tingling in hands
tingling in hands

Hi Everyone,
I am doing the P90X program and am totally digging it! I'm at the tail end of week 3 and feeling great [tired, but stronger and motivated]! I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced tingling sensations [slightly painful] in their hands where the weights press on the fingers? At first it was just my right hand, but now it's on my left as well...If anyone has had this experience or know someone who has and perhaps has advice/solution/information, I would LOVE to hear it!!! Just fyi: I'm wearing weightlifting gloves and I am pushing myself - I'm up to 15#'s on most of the bicep and shoulder routines [and yes, for ME that's really hard right now]. I still cannot do a single pull-up with out 'assist' but am working hard on it to build up to that ability. I don't want to stop and lose and gains I have made but am thinking of giving my hands a break, continue doing all the things that do not require weights in the DVDs on the weight-days, stick with ab-ripperX and then also throw in doing one of the cardios every day [Kenpo and Plyo are my favorites!].
Anyway, if ANYONE has any advice/info, please let me know!
Best,
Stephanie

It could be a number of different things. Pinched nerve or carpel tunnel or something else entirely. Best advice, go to your doctor and get it checked out. No sense in hurting yourself. And if it's something minor they should be able to give you advice on how to work around it. Be sure and be safe.

Thanks - that's on the agenda!

Hey Stephanie,

Way to push yourself! I would check your grip when using dumbbells. If you are holding the dumbbells with a "death grip" this could be your problem. Relax your grip when using dumbbells.

Here's an article on Livestrong that talks about the tingling in the fingers and possible causes. I know we are not supposed to post links to third party websites, however, I do think this article will specifically help in this situation and most others that run into this problem.
