pullups - bands or full?
pullups - bands or full?

Making a start tomorrow and I know that I can only do about 3 proper pullups... to get the most out of the program would it be best to use bands giving me a lot more reps or go for real pullups which will invariably fail at 3 or 4?

I'd vote for the pullups, get the chinup max or a chair so after you fail you can still do more. If you use the chair, do negatives where you use the chair to get to the top, then release the chair and lower yourself slowly using resistance on the way down. I went from 1-2 to over 10 in a round of P90X doing that.

I would do full ones and then use the bands. Have you checked out the pullup assist? It gets you in good form and takes weight off.
Did you take a break after body beast?

Cheers,
Christina

i would do what u can with the bar and use the bands as a back up or towards the end of the work out when you are getting wore down, you can get good results with the bands.
