Day 1 : Someone put a fork in me, 'cause......
Showing 16 results.
....well, I'm not done, neccessarily. But WHOLE LEE CRAP- I don't know how I'm ever gonna get through a full video emoticon

Needless to say, I'm a n00bie! I've been a couch potato for the past 5 month; but prior to work getting a little silly, I ran 5 times a week, with my long runs hitting about 8 miles on the weekends.

Sweet Baby Jesus, did I get out of shape!?!

I did my first fit test, and good LAWD, was it horrendous. As a matter of fact, I did my first ever video blog, shortly thereafter. Ladies and gents, for your viewing pleasure: First Fit Test Review Vid

I just, 20 mins ago, finished day 1 (plyo cardio) and wanted to die. At least I lasted 30 mins, better than the 15 mins on the fit test!(getting better already, ay?)

Needless to say, this has made me NEVER want to take a lull in exercise ever again. Hard to start from scratch.

Anybody else have the same inability to finish any vids the first time through? emoticon

Most of us felt that same way when we started. I dont know many of us who started because we were in shape! So those first days/weeks and even months for some before we could finish or feel comfortable.

As a runner (at that level) you didnt start out at 8 miles so you know it's going to take some time. Keep it up and get off that couch! When you put in the time, energy and work needed to run 8 miles (or do a beachbody program) you dont want to stop and have to get yourself started again.

Good luck! If you're looking for some motivation send me a buddy request I love hearing from people and how they are doing

Haha, you are funny and this is SO very normal. In fact, I actually feel your pain. I restarted my second round of Insanity last week after not doing Insanity for about a year and my goodness gracious, it kicked my bootie for sure. I had done other BB workouts but Insanity is one killer workout for sure. I thought I was gonna pass out after the fit test and then darn plyo on day 1 was just insane for sure.

As many BB workouts as I had done in between it is always Insanity that is literally insane. It has that name for a reason. You are totally normal and with friends for sure. We have a group on FB with a few of us that just started and everyone was feeling the same thing. No worries at all. It will get better but it will always be hard. That is how you get results. You just get used to it.

What are your goals btw?

Def going to push on through. I need to lose the literal 25 lbs I've gained in the past 3-4 months(did a round of meds that really put it on). BUT, I'm also anxious to see what other kind of results I'll see. Post a link to your FB group?(if you don't mind, of course? emoticon

Just did my first fit test today. I am 46 yrs old, 5' 10" and 247 so I am by not means a top athlete. I plan on hits play for the next 2 month. I hope you will be doing the same.

Best of luck to you.

I'm taking my fit test this coming Wednesday or Thursday...getting ready to kick it into gear after taking about a month off from working out. This isn't going to be pretty!

Oh great goals you have there. If you eat right (follow the nutrition plan) and push through those workouts you can definitely reach your goals. I suggest you do not weigh yourself though. I'd go by how your clothes fit and your measurements instead. Sometimes the scale is just evil and doesn't show real results like measurements do. Let me pop you a message re FB so I can add you as a friend.

Good luck with tomorrow's workout if you are done today already. Cardio Power and Resistance for me today. Good one!

Thank ya. I'm definitely not new to working out and throwing the weights around in the gym. However, yes, this is my first time doing ANY kind of structured cardio/workout video routine.

I don't touch the scale emoticon

Since my chubby gains have happened in just the last few months, I've got alot of fitted business wear that will fit quite a bit better as it melts back off. That's what I'm using to gauge ;)

Confession: I'm taking two days off(haha, already!). HOWEVER, it's two fold. I've gotta send my new pair of inov-8's back to zappo's, for a different style. Foot was moving all over the place inside the shoe. No bueno. PLUS, I can't twitch a butt muscle without writhing in pain.

When the shoes get back in, I'm going to take it slow getting through some more of the vids to get all the initial soreness(worst part, every time) out of the way, and start from scratch next week.

Your comment about the butt muscle brings back my own memories of that first week. WOW! Push through it and it will get better the second week, I promise!

lol love this Thread....Actually just completed my 2nd Week of 1st month.
Reading this post reminded me of when I first started and why I have to keep on going emoticon
Insanity in my 1st week was nothing short of a trip to Hell and back....lol

Insanity is NuttZZZZZZZZZZZz! It will continue to kick your behind, but you will notice, you become better as you get fitter.

BUT get to rejoice too long because you will find yourself Digging Deeper,as Shaun T shouts "GO GO GO GO".

Tip: Take short water breaks when you need them! Remember it's interval training.

You will only get what you put in to this training and that's the truth.

iRok..I'm about to finish my second week too. Good stuff! This is my second round and I love it because it is just as hard as my first round. Gotta love Shaun T, always keep us on our toes. I love that I'm always sore and tired and it doesn't matter how many times I keep doing this I'm always pouring and yelling at the TV. I am doing this with a group of folks on FB and it keeps the motivation up, gonna need it for month 2.

Hope you are all doing an AWESOME job and keeping with it! It is SO worth it!

Have an awesome weekend!! One more day til ya rest...if you do.

Hey everyone. We all remember what it was like when we first started and looking back is motivating in itself. When you're at the point of starting out and feeling like you are getting your butt kicked by the program - think about your goals.

Make small goals - break down the larger goals. and so dnlp22 - the laughs you just gave me! Butt and leg muscle soreness! walking, sitting and oh lets not discuss the toilet! LOL

Keep pressing play however, working out will help keep the blood flowing through the muscles and aid in working out the soreness. so there's another incentive to keep going each day.

Remember in the beginning that life happens as well. Shoes need to be returned, people get sick (I'm just getting over a 2 week cold) , kids have activities, etc. This is always hard for beginners and those who have never done a structured program before. Just remember to jump right back in as soon as possible and keep going.

Keep up the great work everyone! You are all doing so well! And it's back to it for me now that I've beat this cold!

Yup! At least you hit play, better than skipping the whole thing and eating garbage instead. How did you do over the holidays? I skipped unfortunately while travelling so I'm going to repeat last week instead of making up the days I missed, it is just easier to repeat the whole week. How did you do?
