Losing Motivation
Losing Motivation

Hey All

Well I originally started my beachbody journey with BBL. After finishing that, I had only lost 4 pounds but really felt like i toned up some (started at 131 pounds). I am now just starting my 9th week of TB. In the beginning I was losing about a pound a week, and I was loving it! I'm now down to 122 pounds (my goal being 115). However, i felt like i have lost all of what i gained from BBL (in terms of toning up), and I'm not losing weight as quickly anymore. Now getting a bit discouraged which has caused me to not eat as well and have been going over my calories almost everyday for about a week. Beachbody has been the first program that i have EVER been able to stick with. I'm still pressing play everyday, and I love TB, but I'm a little worried that with the way I have been eating/feeling the last week that i might be starting to fall off the wagon.

Help!

Hi Courtney!

Congratulations on what you have accomplished! As you lose weight, you'll find that the pounds start to drop slower than before. Don't let the scale define who you are and what you have accomplished so far. It is just a number. Refocus on the inches you have lost, the strength you have gained, the bagginess of your clothes. You are not going to fall of the wagon. Let's get you back on eating healthy and tracking your food and calories. Are you doing TF right now (read your bio)? What do you consume? How much calories do you eat?

Hi Courtney,

When we lose motivation, it's because we lost focus on our reason "why" Your goal is 115lbs. You need to ask yourself why this is important to you? Find something that brings up an emotional response....should make you cry. Once you find this "why" get back on track and go after it. If you are doing everything that you are supposed to with your workout and nutrition and are still not seeing results, you need to either modify your workout program or nutrition plan.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies. I'm 5'0 and as i said above weight around 121/122 right now. I am still doing turbo fire, just starting my 3rd month. I also have the advanced TF classes which will make it 5 months total which I plan on doing. I try to keep my calories around 1400. 1400 is what I calculated from the TF booklet.I am also drinking shakeoloy everyday.

115 is just the number where I am guessing I will feel good about myself. I don't really have any emotional attachment to that particular number. Whenever I get there, I was planning on stop focusing so much on losing weight and just more on toning.

Court,

You welcome! Your calorie calculation is correct. You have a decent goal. In fact, your goal is very similar to mine when I first started out. I say, concentrate on toning out and if you lose the last 5 pounds---GREAT! That was my thought. I bounce between 115-120 nowadays. It all depends on the workout and nutrition.
