Good set of hiking boots?
Good set of hiking boots?

Hey everyone! I'm not sure if this is the proper area to post this question but here we go...

What's a good set of hiking boots? I'm headed up to Tennessee over Thanksgiving break and I know of a few really good trails that I usually ride a four wheeler on, but now I'm able to hike them. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Congratulations on your transformation. That's great that you can enjoy the outdoors now. I suggest you go to REI, Dicks Sporting Goods or Sport Chalet and try on a bunch of different boots. What's good for me isn't necessarily going to be good for you.

I agree with trying different boots out, but I'd go to REI or a hiking shop to get some knowledgeable assistance. Scarpas fit my feet the best, and I can put quite a few miles under them without hotspots or discomfort. When you do get a pair, wear them around the house for a couple hours each day to break them in. If you're hiking in the Smokies, you need a good fitting boot due to all of the ups and downs, rocks and roots.
