Hi
I am wondering how much weight am I supposed to be dropping in the second half of the drop sets. Should my second set of 8 be more, less or equal to my set of 12? So far I have been dropping to a weight greater than my 12?

Well, I tend to drop back to the value that I was pushing for the 12 set. I feel I've judged the weight of the 8 set properly if the final set of 8 with the light weight is really tough. If it's not, then I'll up the weight for the heavy set of 8, so that it leaves me feeling smoked and then pick up my previous weight from my set of 12 and smoke myself some more.

I expect others have different views (this is the internet, after all!), but I think you should find it tough to push more weight than you used for the set of 12 for the last set of 8.

it doesn't even matter really..... just as long as the 8th rep of the set before the drop set is the max you can do and then after dropping some weight, on the final 8th rep that that is all you can do, then your weights are perfect.

Thanks. Ya I guess as long as I am struggling to get the last rep or 2 in ech set I am good. For me I have been dropping to a weight in between the 12 rep set and the 8 rep one but I know I am working cause every workout leaves my muscles dead. I just wasnt sure if there was a hard and fast rule about how to do them

As long as you're smoking yourself - keep on, keepin' on. If it starts to feel easier..... up those weights!
