Just Got Turbo Jam DVD's :-)
Just Got Turbo Jam DVD's :-)

Hi I just received my Turbo Jam DVD's just starting with the Learn and Burn and feel that I can barely handle that because I'm such a klutz with my feet and hands/arms cordination. So It's going to take me like forever to get it down that I can flow throught it? but I was checking out the other workouts and found that the Turbo Sculp and Turbo Abs just may work perfectly for me... I was looking for a easy Strength training program to go with my Running/walking program to do on the days I wasn't doing my run/walk intervals... i've tried the Body Pump at the local Gym but I can't always get to the Gym regularly as I should. Plus the Body Pump DVD set was more than what I wanted to pay for at this time... The weights that came with it were also too heavy for me. As I have a cronic muscular Inflamation that I get with lifting too heavy of weight (anything over 5 to 10 lbs... is pretty painful for me.)

So when I discovered the Sculpting and Ab routines (especially the standing ones) I found the perfect workouts that fit me the best. I'm still trying to practice the Learn and Burn for the other Party Jam workout..but it's going to take me longer because of my poor cordination ... (I'm a Runner, not a Dancer lol!) so the easier it is the better...

I know there is a workout schedule that came with it but right now i'm using a different schedule that incorporates my run/walk ... SO if I can do my Run/walk on 3-4 days a week and Just the Turbo Sculp and Turbo Ab's routines I think my current fitness program will work for me. Ofcourse maybe by the time I get to the point where it's too darn cold outside to run (Temps below 40 degrees) then I can switch my workouts to indoors with the DVD's and finally try the Turbo Party workouts

thanks.

Well, thought I was starting off really good, but now I wound up with a injury yet again... not sure if it was do to the workouts? or during the days I go outside to do my run/walk? I 5k that I did on November 11th? but by the weekend of 17th/18th I had the most terrible leg pain that kept me up all night the 18th this past Monday and Tuesday I wasn't sure if I dislocated my hip or if I ripped the muscles /tendon in my thigh? or it could be a pinched nerve.. the Xray's showed that at least I don't have Bursitis or a disclocated hip...actually my bones are in Excellent shape, no arthritis either. but my thigh does feel like I tore a major muscle or tendon... so It's Rest and recovery time no workouts, no running...just rest. Doctor's orders for the next 2 weeks. I'm just exercise accident prone I guess? emoticon

Im sorry to hear about your injury emoticon I pray you have a quick healing emoticon that way you could get back at it once the doc releases you. I would try doing it at a slower pace till you pick up the moves....I know Turbo Jam can be quite a fast pace in most of the videos. Also try watching the lady that is modifying the moves too. I hope this helps. Enjoy your rest. Carlie

Thank you Carlie, I was doing, the modified moves. but I found out through some indepth reading in some medical journals that when you have Hypothyroidism - it effects your muscles. causing them to be more weaker and harder to build the strength...than in normal people. which is the result of more injury... I'm thinking it more prevailant the older I get, because I don't remember having so many injuries involving my muscles when I was younger with the Hypothyroidism? It's just going to be extra challenging, because also those those with Hypothyroidism also have weight issues - tend to gain weight faster becaue even though our thyroid gland is not functioning we have to depend on 2 things 1. the meds have to replace the Hormones for normal body functions 2. we still have to generate our own Metabolisum through exercise to burn off the fat calories. but I never knew that it really has effected my muscles that much? Just because I take medication to replace my Thyroid horomones I still feel like a "Normal" person I forget that I'm Hypothyroid, so I still tend to workout out hard and keep up with everyone else.
