Introducing P90X to high schoolers
Hi everyone

Quick question....our high school is having a wellness day the day before Thanksgiving and they would like to offer a session on P90X. Which workout do you think would be the best to benefit the students and give them a taste of what P90X has to offer. I am a Beachbody coach and have done 4 rounds of P90X personally.

Thanks for your reply,

John Rivers

I am a senior in high school right now, I am about a week away from completing my first P90X round. Personally, I would reccomend showing them something that isn't super difficult, something the kids would probably be able to do. What is the setup of this wellness day exactly? Like what does it consist of/schedule, etc, and what is the whole aim of the wellness day?

They will have several health sessions throughout the day to move through....health foods, games and they can sign up for different sessions. I was thinking Kempo or Plyo, something that didn't involve weights or bands. As a high school student, before you did P90X what would have turned you on?

Core Synergistics. It has a little bit of everything P90X has to offer.

Cardio X. It has a sample from 4 workouts. Yoga, Plyo, Core Synergistics, and kenpo. It is also 45 minutes as oppossed to an hour.

Well, before P90X I was pretty into weights, but I never could stick to a workout program for more than a month or two at a time. That's why I have liked P90X, I have stuck to it and am going to do another round after this. But back to your question: I think something without weights or a pull up bar would be a must for a school related wellness day, Kenpo is one of my personal favorite cardio routines in the program, although Cardio X would be another good option, since it does sample each workout. Just make sure you can keep the kids involved in it though if you have them try a workout, some of them may have a "P90X doesn't work or this is easy" kind of mentality, just keep them into the workout if you get some of the kids to try a routine.

What did you decide to do, John? Let us know how it goes. Always interested to hear how High Schoolers take to Beachbody programs.
