Help! Want to start but I have a question!
Hello! I would like to start insanity but as you can see from the pics below I lack muscle mass.
My concern is that I will end up really skinny and will burn the little muscle that i have ( i checked in july and had 130lbs of LBM and 48lbs of fat at 178 total) I already have my diet ready getting in around 2300 calories.
now my questions is: Is there any way to do insanity and also weight training ( i have a gym membership and work out regularly) and how to incorporate it for best results?
im 25 years old 5'10 and weigh around 170

Hey man,

If you want to incorporate extra lifting you can absolutely do so. There's actually a bonus workout called upper body weight training too. But if you want to lift, you could go to the gym 3 days a week to do some strength training in addition to Insanity. I do think that your legs will build muscle with Insanity as there is a ton of squatting and there are quite a few push-ups, but you might find you want to do more.

Hey!

Great choice with Insanity. I love that program. If you were to do weight training with Insanity, I would switch off days. Maybe M-W-F Insanity and T-TH-Sa Weights. Also, if you were willing to get P90x, there is a P90x/Insanity hybrid that you could do. P90x would definitely build muscle mass.

Like the above poster said (forgot who, I wish I could see all the posts when I reply! lol), considering the amount of muscle you have now, I don't think Insanity would take any muscle away. It would help shed your fat and I'm pretty sure you would gain a little muscle. There are LOTS of pushups and other exercises that work your whole body and won't make you lose muscle (unless you have lots of muscle mass already). Check out my profile, I have a couple before and after pics from Insanity! I need to update my photos though because I've been doing Asylum and have gained more muscle mass emoticon

cool thanks for the advice. i don't have the equipment for p90x so ill stick to the gym weights for now.
