I cant bring myself to do the yoga workout I get bored, I dont like it and I end up skipping yoga days. I was thinking about doing cardio x instead and was wondering if anyone else had done the same and saw results

I have worked with people who have subbed it for yoga. I feel yoga is important. There is a shorter workout Tony does called fountain of youth that I know people have subbed for it.

What week are you on on? Love P90X! What is your goal with it?

Cheers,

The friend that I did my first round of P90X with subbed Cardio X for Yoga X. His results weren't nearly as good as mine, but he also wasn't quite as religious about the diet as I was. I'm thinking the difference in results was because of both the Cardio X substitution and the diet cheats he had.

For me, the yoga was boring at first. You're doing the P90X program for some kind of self improvement, am I right? Think of it as an exercise to improve your patience and focus as you make your way through the Yoga X routine. I would consider it to be either my first or second favorite workout now, but it did take time to get there.

With patience and dedication come results.

I agree with Andy, Yoga is vital for your success. At 90 minutes it is actually one of the highest calorie burn workouts in the entire program. The benefits to balance and flexibility are absolutely worth the investment. I'll never forget when I went through the yoga routine for the first time and Tony said "working in a tiny little apace and everyone's sweating like hell"

My reaction that week was "Hey I'm not sweating that much". But then again I couldn't even get into half of the poses due to my lack of flexibility. Fast forward to the next week and I was dripping wet because I could get into the poses.

Decide, Commit, Succeed, the key is that middle step, staying committed. I didn't change a thing in my first round. Diet was straight by the book as was the workout schedule.

You can do this, just tune out the thought of how much you don't like the yoga routine and focus on each small detail of the pose you are in. Before you know it the whole workout will be over.

Bring It!
