Insane Beast: Sweating for the Wedding
Hello!
I have been doing a doubles program of Insanity and Body Beast. Because it was just a combination I *really* wanted to try.
And then I got engaged emoticon emoticon

The wedding is for sometime in the summer of 2014 (Likely in June). So needless to say this adds another layer of excitement to my motivation emoticon

A little about me:
Age- 26
Height - 5'7
Current Weight (as of Nov 16 2012)- 165.5

I'll be done Beast in December so this is mostly about the wrap up of it but I will likely be traking my fiance's progress with Beast as he is starting to soon.

This is exciting! emoticon

So I did Pure Cardio(Insanity) last night, followed by Build Shoulders (Beast). Gotta say, that is a hell of a combination! Pure cardio really drives home the solid core throughout and then there are a few moves in Build shoulders (Sagi's 6 way and the 1,1,2 raise) that I FELT the core in a big way. And it felt GOOD emoticon

And then I helped to move boxes and table tops around for a few hours. It was a good day emoticon

Last night was a rest day from Insanity so it was just me and Beast Bulk Chest. WAHOO! I like that workout as it gives me the illusion that I can actually increase my bust size emoticon Although I know pectoral exercises can firm and lift the ladies, I've been lucky enough to not really lose a cup size. There has been no gaining emoticon

I've got to get heavier weights, the inclined chest press and regular chest presses are now far too easy with the lower weights I have. Need to get my hands on the next three levels of weights. Now if only I could find the money fairy and club him over the head....

Pure Cardio from Insanity and Body Beast's Bulk Shoulders are a great pairing!
I do the cardio first (because I find that Beast has a very limited warm up) and that means I was already drenched and limber for shoulders. A little extra warm up stretch and then I dove into Shoulders. And almost immediately had to remind myself that I am not actually a superhero emoticon Lateral raises are great moves to kill my ego. I can do them, just not as heavy as I keep thinking. Still I got the 20lbs going with good form so I am improving.
And the moment I got on the floor to do the superman stretch and plank twist-twist, my cat Twitch dove under my belly to try and play with the strings of my shorts. Well, there's some great motivation to keep my back straight and core tight: don't want to fall and kill my cat!

On the wedding front- we have a day picked out and my internal count down has started... I still have a year and 7 months to get ready, and I am going to rock a column/sheath style dress. By that time I should have the body shape I have been working so hard for, and I will be showing it off, but tastefully. It's a summer wedding, and I've decided on barefoot under my dress emoticon And flowers in my hair. Sometimes I wonder if I was a hippie in my past life... emoticon

Congrats on your engagement! You've set a good realistic goal for the amount of time you have to reach it. I've just started Beast and I'm enjoying the workouts, though I do wish there was more warmup and cardio (yeah I get the purpose of the program...still...). I'm not doubling now, but when Combat arrives next month I'll add that in. Probably a morning/evening combo though, not back to back. I'll warm up on the treadmill until then.

Keep posting your progress and what you think of the doubles.

Good luck and stay focused :-)

Whatever it takes!

Thanks Gene emoticon
I didn't plan on doubling up when I started Beast, but I found that I really missed the cardio. Which is definitely a new thing for me. As I used to hate cardio. But now I have definitly found a soft spot in my heart for it now.

Let me know how Combat goes, it's on my wishlist for the new year, and I can't wait to hear some feedback on it!

So this weekend was not the best nutrition wise, but we have definitely found a couple of wines for the wedding! emoticon Francis Ford Coppola - Director's Cut, Cabernet Sauvignon and J Maritini (Napa) Cab. Sau as well. Yum Yum! emoticon

Other than drinking too much wine, I had a great weekend where I slept a lot, ate too much and wandered about the city. It felt good and 'normal' which was greatly appreciated. I feel much refreshed for my week of working out. Here we go!

I'm getting into the last stretch of Beast and it's a strange sensation. I feel like I've gotten a LOT of strength gains without as many physcial changes to my appearance. But that could jsut be in my head, or due to faulty nutrition on my part. Makes me want to try the Beast again, only this time more strict with my diet. I have the P90X/Insanity hybrid planned for the new year, and during the holidays I have a more relaxed workout schedule planned as recovery, but I might throw one more week of Beast onto the end of this round, jsut for that extra, final push. We shall see!

But for sure, I am definitely coming back to this program. I am not jsut getting wedding dress ready, but I am also prepping for two Tough Mudders and a Spartan Beast. And that means I have to Beast Up.
