I started insanity Monday. Im worried that my diet isnt right since im not gonna follow the guide that was sent, since I could not really understand it. Im simple when it comes to food and dont have the time to really prepare 5 meals a day. Im a 24 male and I weigh 180 with a bodyfat percentage of 23.5%. Ive eaten fast food the last 3 years twice a day and drank beer every friday and saturday the last 2 years. I looked at myself one day and didnt like what I saw and put my foot down and decided it was time to do something about it. This has been my diet the last week. Is this good? Bad? Okay?

Monday I had two boiled egg whites and a bowl of plain oatmeal for breakfast. I had a can of tuna, a slice of wheat bread, field peas with snaps, two boiled egg whites, and a banana for dinner. After my work out I ate a peanut butter sandwhich on wheat bread.

Tues was two boiled egg whites, and bowl of plain oatmeal with fresh blueberrys. Dinner was 10 raw shrimp, a can of veggies that had corn, tomatoes, and beans, and two boiled egg whites. Peanut butter on wheat after workout.

Wed was plain oatmeal with blueberrys and two boiled egg whites. Dinner was can of tuna, slice of wheat bread, two boiled egg whites, and a can of collards. Peanut butter sandwhich after workout

Thur was two boiled egg whites and a slice of wheat bread toast with a little peanut butter. Dinner was two pieces of talapia fish grilled and after my workout two pieces on wheat bread.

Fri was two boiled egg whites and a bowl of oatmeal with banana and blueberry. Dinner was two slices of talapia grilled. After my workout which was killer today I had whole grain pasta in tomato paste, a slice of wheat bread, and a slice of wheat bread with peanut butter.

I think im taking in maybe 1200-1500 calories a day and im suppose to take in 2000+ according to insanity guide. I have more energy than I have in along time and Ive given up the beer and smokes and giving this my all. Will my diet mess me up and not give me good results from insanity??? If so then Id like to know instead of wasteing my time and effort on something that wont help. Thanks in advance on any advice or info you can provide.

It does seem a bit thin. If it's working, it's working, but be prepared to up the calories soon, because I'm guessing results/performance will soon suffer.

That said, the one thing you should increase immediately are fresh fruits and veggies. Not tricky stuff. Go buy yourself a bag of apples, a bag of baby carrots and a bag of spinach. Eat 'em all as much as you can.
