Hello,

My name is Myra and I am in my early 20's. I am really looking to start insanity and I would love the motivation and challenge I can gain by others doing it with me and pushing me to keep on going. Is there anyone interested in starting insanity soon? This will be my FIRST time so I am a newbie!!!

Hey Myra,

I am in my 20's as well. I just started my fit test today, but I would really like someone to check in with that is going through this too. My roommates aren't athletic AT ALL. Could really use an INSANITY buddy. emoticon

Let me know when you start!

well, not sure if Myra is still around but I'm thinking of getting started this weekend - I'm postponing it because I am hosting my work Christmas party at my house this Friday, so once that's come and gone I can get at it. You two still game/started yet? Anyone else out there looking to get INSANE?!?

I'm still here guys, sorry for being away for a few days though. I have started insanity and man it is no joke. Especially since I stopped working out for MONTHS and then practically started again with insanity, so it is not easy. Today is day three for me emoticon How is it going for you guys?

I will do my fit test this weekend and then away I go!

I'm in the same boat re: having stopped another program (Power 90) back in April and really nothing much on the fitness front since then other than 5 weeks of running in October til I hurt my foot.

It's tough to get going on these programs at first, but just MAKE THE COMMITMENT TO PUSH PLAY! After that it will all come together! :-)

I hope we all stick to it! Good luck on your fit test JB!

Guys I failed. Missed a couple workouts these past few days from holidays and my job is super stressful and busy. Any suggestions when this happens? It is hard to push play when I get home since I am so tired. Not much of a morning person either to get up early and kick out a work out. Any suggestions on jump starting my energy level after a day of work to do my workout?

I just typed a WHOLE message and its gone! :/

OK... So what you need to do is focus your mind, get your mind set on doing the workout. De-focus yourself from the tiredness and try acknowledging the workout, try committing to it in your mind and then let your mind lead your body to do the same. They say the mind quits before the limbs do. Accept it, accept that you will get up and do the workout, even if you only do a part of it. Some will say this is cheating but each person is different in my opinion, and it is better to do a part of it and remain consistent than skipping out on a few days, right? Some people cannot do the full 40+ mins of this workout, and let's face it: it is INSANE. I won't, lie, I don't always finish the whole workout but at the same time I know what I am doing, I have a plan. I had stopped working out for a really long time and in the beginning of this year I got a back pain that is still here, so I need to keep these things in mind and know my limits. As long as I am sweating and breathing like crazy at the end of my workout then I know I tried emoticon and I am really hoping to dig much deeper in round two of insanity, God willing.

So make sure you do at least some of it on those days which you feel your just exhausted. You did NOT fail! Your still after what you want, this is why your seeking help on this thread, isn't it? Remember that a little is better than nothing, but make sure you really work hard in those few mins. And I don't mean like 5 mins either! ;)

P.S. If your doing insanity strictly to lose weight, then make SURE you watch what your eating. Eat healthy, like veggies and fruits and whole wheat breads and pastas, etc. This is where many go wrong, so if your not working out as hard as you can then you surely cannot slack in this category! emoticon

-BE SAFE-

Well, here's my two cents. I work during the week, up at 6 to get ready for the day. I'm married with two young boys (5 and 2), so once I get back from a draining work day I'm full out with dinner, family time, boys to bed, then I'm beat. SO, that leaves me with early morning as my only feasible workout time. Up at 5 AM. Sounds yucky, I know, but once you get into the groove of it it's not so bad. All you have to do is have everything set the night before so you just hop into your workout gear, grab some water, and press play. When that alarm goes off, get your feet on the floor before you know what hit you. Once you get past that, you should be OK. My last program was Power 90 I started in January, and completed about 75 of the 90 days (I got very ill for a couple of weeks and never went back to complete it, but had already gotten good results so I was OK with that). On my days off I just make sure I get it in sometime, but don't force the 5 AM those days.

Once I start Insanity, it'll be 5 AM every work day. Just do it!!

SO, successful work party Friday done, didn't know we were having overnight guests Saturday night but that's also done. Somewhat recovered so just did my Fit Test. And here it begins. This already seems daunting, but bring it on! Everyone here helps as well, please post every day you can!! It's motivating to know there are others in your predicament and they are powering through it!

Looking at my regular work week, I've decided the best day to have a rest day is (believe it or not) Tuesday. Therefore, I plan to begin day 1 of Insanity this Wednesday.

KEEP PUSHING PLAY EVERYONE! Commit to a better you, I'll help you get there if you'll do the same for me!

I am Here! Thanks for the motivation and support guys! Who knew this website would offer such motivation to keep going. This is all a first for me, but I am really excited. Since I missed 2 days it then turned into the rest of the week. emoticon I am recommitted though. Thanks BEambitious for the mind over matter suggestion, and JB for the regular schedule suggestion. I am going to give this another go, and start over. My start date is Nov. 26th. I will be checking in everyday if possible. Cause I NEED the support and motivation and it is good to know I have "work out buddies." Good luck on your start dates.

Talk to you all soon.

So, how did it go kaisa? Did you get started today?

Anybody else here?

If not, maybe we should join a thread with a few more people starting at about the same time. There's a few around, and tehre is also one big Insanity continuous thread.

I did start yesterday JB. And today, it was so HARD to press play since I had a 12 hour day at work. BUT I DID IT. Glad I have people to check in with!

So I took your advice JB and got up extra early to do the workout. And though it is really hard for me, I love the feeling I got my workout done for the day. I feel it will keep me on track with what I eat during the day as well. I know that when I start to not keep track of what I am eating and eat whatever I desire I then begin to think my workout at the end of the day will make up for it. But I know it doesn't work that way. So workouts in the morning are going to be my new routine!

Congrats kaisa!! First thing in the morning works best for me too, no other distractions going on. I haven't really worked on diet yet, but mine isn't bad to begin with. I'll have a closer look at the nutrition guide soon.

Well, it looks like this thread is extremely quiet I hope everyone is still working out, the hardest part is getting started. Which is why motivation is so important.

I've decided to jump to a different thread that is more active, with people who have recently started the program. The thread is here:

Maybe I'll see you there!

Good luck to all of you, KEEP PUSHING PLAY!!
