On the go LEAN P90X/Insanity hybrid
I haven't been exercising for almost a year. My 32' jeans are almost impossible to button closed now. I drive a truck so I'm on the road monday-friday staying in motels and crappy bunkrooms at the terminals. So that eliminates weights, medicine balls, and a chin up bar from the choice of wo's. So this is what I came up with.

WEEKS 1-3
Power Half Hour Abs TMT/OoO Chest&Back
Fast and Furious
P90 Master's series Sculpt 5/6 and 10 Minute Trainer abs

WEEKS 9&11

WEEKS 10&12

OoO/TMT Upper TMT Abs

Ideally each wo would be 45 minutes or less. But the hour long wo's I've chosen are solid and have much to justify themselves to me. I don't always have the time to wo for an hour. Core synergistics was dropped since for some of the exercises you can't stay on the yoga mat. I am not rolling around on the floor of the bunk room all sweaty. Max Recovery is a good combination of stretching, upper wo, core and cardio. Don't let the name recovery fool you, its a wo!

The One on One/Ten Minute Trainer wo's are about 15-18 minute long. Most people blow them off and all the reviews I've found for them quickly dismiss them. They are Ideal for me. There are no chin-ups, I don't have RELIABLE time to wo and bands fit in my suitcase.

I'd like to use upper body balance in place of core synergistics, but if I pack balls then I can justify a chin up bar. It may seem petty, But I want to avoid "Equipment Creep". I don't have a sleeper truck, so I don't have the room for these things. Bands, body weight and a yoga mat are it.

Tony did a very good job designing Sculpt 5-6 and UML. Sculpt has a slight total body bias. Its not all upper, it has a few core moves as well. Almost every exercise has a synergistic aspect. UML is pure core. These 2 even though are intermediate level wo's, support my goal of FUNCTIONAL fitness.

I started out with PHH Abs and F'n'F since I haven't exercised in a while. After 4 weeks, then I think I can justify The Max wo's.

Any feedback?

After using this schedule and wo on a regular basis I tweaked it a little. Yes, I'm out of shape, but coming back sooner than I thought. I also moved day 1 to Sunday so I can wo with weights at home. So I can do Core Synergistics, Chest And Back, and Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Max Recovery is a great motel option for Core Synergistics.

week 3 done, phase 1 over. Looking forward to a recovery week of mostly yoga. I have really gotten stiff. The seated twisting poses of yoga really show me I'm working the core well. I'm not flexible to begin with, so I will be pleased if I don't lose more. Tony must love core wo's. Sculpt 5/6 and UML seem to be different versions of core synergistics with their own emphasis.

The gut isn't really going away, but my shoulders and triceps are getting obvious definition and some mass. I need to audit my nutrition to get the gut to go away.

I got temporarily asigned a scheduled daylight run, so now I'll be home everyday. So I can do weeks 5-7 as scheduled. I just need to hang a chin-up bar for legs and back. I can't get motivated for KenpoX so I'll do Plyo instead. CardioX still gets replaced by Pure Cardio.

I stepped on the scale the other day. I'm down 5 lbs. My sister, who I don't see often noticed my gut is smaller. Weight loss is not specificaly my goal. Getting rid of my gut is. Progress after phase 1. Good.

Unfortunately I didn't do a fit test, take a body fat percentage, or even measurements. I just want to get rid of my gut, get fit, all while working around the limitations of my job.

Maybe Santa will assign me a truck with a sleeper so I can take a chin up bar, weights, and medicine balls with me.

KPP!
