SoreyFitness,
You have made me feel a little more positive about things, thank you. And yes I know what you mean by cry, oh my god when I looked at those scales this morning it came out of no where, sobbing I think is the word. When you work so hard and make a commitment to better yourself and then see no difference, well, you know what I'm saying. This is also my first dvd program so I didn't know what to expect at all.
i have been roughly keeping track of my calories but I clearly need to pay more attention to it to make sure it is as it should be. I did do the calculations but I was surprised at how many calories I should be allowed to eat. I think it worked out to 1800. I'm 5'9'' and currenty 158lbs. I've looked into how many calories are burned typically in an insanity period but it seems to vary so much it's hard to know. If you could give me some help with this I would really appreciate it
Also I know from reading various posts that a lot of people aren't able to complete the workouts without having a break, how many breaks would be too many, because I'm telling you, the first week, I took A LOT!! And although I've improved slightly, somedays I can't even complete the warm ups without having a few seconds here or there. I feel like I'm trying really hard, but is this normal??
I would love to be part of a accountability group just point me in the right direction and tell me what to do.
I hope to keep going through the holidays, I'm a little nervous at the nutritional aspect but the exercise is pretty addictive when your ticking off those boxes.
Thank you so much for your response, I think I may now be able to get over this set back now and keep on keeping on.
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
I know nothing is going to make you 100% feel better because I have been where you are and just wanted to cry. A LOT of things can make your weight fluctuate like how much water we drink (your body will adjust, but it takes a little time), water retention from sore muscles/sodium, sleep, hormones, etc. Your measurements around your hips could be your body adjusting to the jumps and kicks in the workout. In my experience, I build muscle before burning off all the fat on top...It takes me about 4-6 weeks to get a REAL evaluation of my measurements. Does all of that make sense?
I understand that the nutrition plan being too off of your diet, but I would recommend following at least the calorie intake it suggests. Your calories are what fuel your body, and if you don't have enough fuel your body will hold onto fat! YUCK! Do you know how many calories you should be eating? Have you ever tracked them? My worry for you is that you aren't eating enough since you said your diet is pretty good and that a vegetarian diet is usually lower calorie anyways. You may just need to add a snack in to help you get the max burn. I can help you calculate it if you want, does that sound good?
Another thing that has really helped me is having an accountability group too. I think all of us reach a "REALLY?!!!!!" point and having people there to support and offer advice really helps me feel better about everything. We share tips, meal plans, progress, motivational posts, questions, and also do a monthly challenge and giveaway to whoever is crushing their goals. Would you like to be added to the group? (It's free and nothing weird lol!)
Are you planning on doing Insanity through the holidays too? I hope so! I'm doing TurboFire and Chalean right now because my boyfriend has my Insanity workout , but I did complete it last fall. My results were better in month 2 after upping my calories.
