Anyone with heart disease, severe asthma, ect.
I'm just looking for someone who can relate to what I am going through. I want to be fit so badly but being born with heart disease it is extremely hard. Working out puts me in SOOO MUCH PAIN, especially cardio. And not like sore pain... it's I can't breathe if I don't stop I WILL PASS OUT MY ENTIRE BODY IS BLUE AND NUMB PAIN.

I am going to continue pushing through because my doctor told me it is safe to work out, I just have to listen to my body. However, I feel like my body always tells me to stop before I get to the point that the workout is really making a difference.

I was in great shape at one point when I was younger and a dancer. I just want to be back there but sometimes I feel like it is impossible.

Mstreac, I'm sorry that has to be very frustrating. I admire your courage and determination, I was just thinking that maybe taicheng, might be a program that you could do and enjoy, and possibly work into another program..I personally have not done it but I've read a lot of great results from it. I just wanted to share my thought

Bill

I will definitely look into that!! Thanks.

And it is frustrating but I try not to let it get to me. I have been pretty lucky considering. I have had two open heart surgeries (age 12 and 16) and am still able to do a lot. Most people in my position are extremely limited. I am lucky I am even allowed to try workouts like P90X.

Sometimes I do get down though. I would love to know what it feels like to be able to run a mile or play backyard football on thanksgiving with my family. It makes me so mad when people with no excuse are just too lazy to get up and exercise. I would love to be able to do it everyday with no pain or worries that my heart is going to give up on me.

I have asthma. I know how you feel. It is hard to get through a workout without having to stop. I think it is great that your doc approved you to do P90X. It has taken me a long time, but I have gotten into shape even with my breathing problems.

Hang in there! It will happen it will just take a little longer.

Wow. Thank you for sharing. You are doing more than MOST and should be SO PROUD!! I love P90X. It helped me train for my first 1/2 marathon running for Vanessa's Big Heart. Just take it one day at a time. Thank you for Inspiring Me!

Cheers!

We should talk. I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy 11 years ago and nearly died April of 2011. I managed to go 10 years and not know that I have heart disease. I now have a LVAD and am waiting for a heart transplant. I am also a national fitness instructor at the YMCA. I am 3 days into Insanity. Check out my before photos. Let me know if you want to chat.
