Help with workouts on one leg or lying down only
I am a 49 year old female who has been doing BB programs for four years. I have P90X, Insanity, P90X2 and Les Mills Pump. I have been playing indoor/outdoor soccer three times a week, broke my ankle playing indoor - had surgery one week ago to re-align the fibula with a plate and 5 screws. I am looking for ways to stay in shape best I can with a cast on my foot for the next month. I have been doing Les Mills Pump Hard Core Abs, pull ups, push ups, one legged burpee/pushups (up to 6 of those) and today did the chest track from Les Mills Pump Extreme.

Anyone have any suggestions of workouts from any of the programs I have that can be done while lying down, or on one leg?

Don't think anything from Insanity can be done, even cardio abs has a lot of standing and jumping.

From P90X, Ab ripper, and some of the lifting routines can be done, you would just have to fast forward through some of the exercises that would require two legs (like the whole legs and back DVD).

From P90X2, you're the perfect candidate! It seems like every exercise is based on your core, doing one leg presses and curls all day long. Take a look at some of those DVDs, especially the first phase ones.

Haven't done any Les Mills stuff, so I couldn't comment on that.

I have a few pilates tapes I use that are almost totally on the mat. (LMP actually references a few pilates moves in their ab sections)

also, high and tight from Brazil Butt lift is a mat/pilates style workout for lower body on the mat with ankle weights. Think leg lifts, leg circles - Jane Fonda type stuff, but effective and 1 leg friendly.

you might want to check out the combat dvd from Pump as well (the cardio pack). It is boxing - but you can still get a great cardio workout with it doing the punching moves and omitting the kicking/knee lifts (if you can stand up on the cast)

also, the barre style of workouts (using a ballet bar and doing leg lifts) might work for you- although you might be lopsided in the workout, but that cast could be a heavy leg weight.

It's not perfect, but it might get you through the next month.

Dont forget about the shoulder and tricep tracks from all the LMP tapes - all those various upper-body (back, bicep tricep shoulder) moves can be down sitting down in a chair if you want.

you could probably "you tube" most of what I mentioned above to get an idea of what the workouts involve. There are all kind of beachbody users on you tube taping themselves as they do the workouts!
