insanity workouts need motivation priorities university students busy days
11/21/12 7:38 PM
I have recently ordered insanity and love the challenge and workouts involved in this program, yet i find myself so exhausted after working and going to university full time that I often end up doing anything BUT working out, even though I know I should be.
I know moms with busy schedules find the same issue with being so overwhelmed that exercising often gets put on on the last list of priorities. I keep getting frustrated with myself, because I know how much better I feel after I do the workouts--yet I somehow always find excuses or say: Oh, I'll do it in an hour, and then an hour turns into two hours, and eventually its tomorrow morning I'll do it, etc.

Is there anyone who can think of a way in which I can keep myself motivated to get into a routine of doing it and how to think more positively about my situation?

Thanks!

Kayla

Hi Kayla,

This is a common problem for many. First thing I would tell you is find your reason "why". Why are you wanting to workout? Why is this important to you? This needs to be a big reason, not just " I want to tone or lose 10 lbs". Find something that burns inside of you and brings the emotion out of you....then when it gets hard to push through a workout or you don't want to do one, think about this "why" and it will motivate you.

Second, I would recommend that you do your workout first thing in the morning before your day starts. This way you will not put workout off when things come up during the day. Make it a habit to workout at this time and then it's out of the way.

Lastly, you need an accountability partner or group. This will help you stay focused and keep you motivated. I'll send you a buddy request and would be happy to help you!

Jeff hit the mark.

To stay motivated, find a group that will keep you motivated, help you change those negative thoughts into positive thoughts, and hold you accountable. There are many groups on the Team Beachbody threads as well as Facebook or other social media that keeps everyone connected. Search the threads. If you would like to join my group for motivation, buddy me and message me.

Always remember you WHY. Why did you decide to start? Could it be to have more energy? Lose weight for an event? If you have kids, to keep up with your children? To become more healthy? Your WHY should be your motivation to keep on going. And if your why is important to you, you will find a why to make things happen.

Happy Thanksgiving!
