Can someone please please PLEASE help me..
Ive just started Insanity, and Im just really confused on how much calories I should be eating. Im 5'2, 123 pounds and 19 years old and Ill be doing Insanity 6 times a week. Ive basically figured it out that I should be eating 1650-1700 calories a day, is that too much or???????

By using the fitness calorie needs calculator on this site,,,it says to maintain your present weight you need 2400 calories a day....if you want to lose weight id subtract 300-500 calories a day ( 500 is one pound per week)
Insanity burns alot of calories...it breaks your body down alot..You need to eat enough t fuel your workouts and repair. If you dont eat enough you wont get the results you want.
You can calculate your own needs by clicking on Get Fit ...then Fitness tools...at the bottom of that page are some links ..one is caloric needs calculator....click that and ..viola...a tool to help you.
I hope you like insanity...good program and you will see great rsults if you fuel yourself and rest.
A recovery drink after every workout will help you repair faster and cut down on soreness ALOT...You can use beachbody version or make your own...the ratio is 4 carbs to 1 protein...the carbs are important to replace glycogen and repair..the protein is carried into the muscle by the carbs (sugar) and helps with building and repair.

1700-1800 is around the amount you should be eating to lose weight, based off of your numbers. However, it also depends on what your fitness level was beforehand, how much food you previously consumed daily, and what your goals are. If you don't want to lose any weight, 400-500 calories should be added on to that number.

I was lightly active all throughout the week and I ate anywhere from 1300 to 1500 a day.

You need to stick to the 1700-1800 calorie goal, the Insanity workouts will burn the couple hundred extra calories. Plus you will need the fuel to keep your body progressing. You will gain strength and cardiovascular endurance.

You don't want to under feed your body because you can actually go into a state where your body is feeding off of lean muscle which is the exact opposite of what you want to accomplish.

You can do this!

The calculations I made in my previous post are directly from the beachbody calculator..you can run the numbers yourself...or you can guess at what you need. eating 1700-1800 calories while doing a program that generally burns 600 calories each workout puts you at 1100-1200 calories for the rest of your day and metabolic function...just to breathe in and out while sitting in chair you need 1400 calories to maintain your weight now....that doesnt include insanity. Like I said dont believe me or anyone else here. Use the tools on this website and see for yourself they recommend their 2400 calorie plan. The exact numbers were 2291 to reach goal of reshaping body and leaning out and 2141 to maintain weight.
