So I am currently at the end of week 3 of bulk, and I'm starting to look ahead what to do after the entire program is finished. I've put on some extra belly, which is to be expected, and want to lose that when I'm done. I really don't think the 3 week "beast" segment is going to get it done, so I was thinking of redoing Insanity/Asylum afterwards. However, I don't want to lose the muscle gains I've made, which I believe would happen somewhat with pure cardio plans.

Ideas? What else has anyone tried?

Thanks!

Why won't the Beast Phase get it done? How's your nutrition? Are you hitting your calorie targets and macros? I lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks on Beast Phase...doing ZERO cardio, but going on the competition diet on the last week. You might be surprised.

My 2nd post of my Body Beast Thread shows my progression each week through Body Beast. Diet is the key.

Asylum 2 has much more of an emphasis on weight lifting than either Insanity or the first Asylum. The sets tend to be in the 12-20 rep range with much lighter weights than those used in Body Beast. I think it is a very solid program if you are looking to maintain your strength while cutting some fat.

Cool, we'll see how beast phase goes. Seems it may surprise me!

I've been pretty decent with the diet, at least from a calorie standpoint. I've been ok with %fat/protein/carb, but on that note I haven't strictly watched. I just don't have the time to be that specific, and I'm ok with that. I'm probably fairly close to the proper ratios.

I'll have to check out asylum 2. I really enjoyed Insanity, and I know I'm going to start running for some summer events, so that'll help plenty with cutting. Just didn't want to lose my muscle gains.

BTW, that's an awesome thread there. I'm gonna read it thoroughly as soon as I can.

You are better off missing 1 or two workouts if that's what it takes to make time to be that specific. You are putting in all this time and efforts into your workouts, why not get something for it!? If you need help with this part...let's chat...it's what I do.
