| First of all, hello everyone - This is my first post on these message boards and I'm very happy to have started the P90X program. I'm about to turn 32 and at only 5 1/2 weeks in, my fiance and I are seeing amazing results. I was never in real poor shape, per se, at 6'0" 195lbs, working out at the gym 3-4 days per week; however, I was, let's say "comfortable" with my routine and it wasn't getting my anywhere. I had developed a bit of a light spare tire around my waist and I just didn't look the way I wanted to. Well, I've already lost 10lbs and dropped nearly two belt loops - Awesome! And I feel great!
Now, onto my current dilemma... I've been religious about sticking with the program until yesterday when I woke up with a pretty bad pain in my left knee. No idea what caused it - The day prior was shoulders, biceps & ab ripper, so nothing I did in that work out could've had anything to do with it. Regardless, we had to take the day off yesterday (which wasn't a big deal as we were planning on just working through Sunday instead of taking that day for rest, as we normally do) and today my knee feels about 50% better but there's no way in h*ll I can do yoga x or cardio x (we trade those two out on yoga day, now and then) as I'll definitely hurt my knee worse - Still limping a bit when I walk. Can't flex my quad (locking the knee) without pain, or put much weight on it when bent. So, my question is; what can I do?? I don't want to stop, even for a few days, by any means if I can help it!
So, I'm considering subbing in the old chest and back workout that we did in phase 1 for today so I'm still getting some kind of workout, then hoping my knee is in good enough condition to work through Kenpo tomorrow, even if a little modified. Thoughts, advice...? Any insight would be greatly, greatly valued and appreciated.
Cheers,
Danny |
