I'll try to keep story time to a minimum.

6'6, 180lbs scrawn my whole life. NEVER taken care of myself. NEVER measured what I eat. Usually have a pretty big appetite to begin with even though I don't do anything physical, ever. Though I've dabbled in casual sports like mma, and soccer/basketball with friends, but never anything competitive.

I also have a history of back problems, but I'm seeing an athletic therapist about that.

Long story short, I was going to do P90X until my assigned beachbody coach advised me that a skinny dude like me should probably look into BodyBeast.

So I AM looking into body beast. But again, all this workout stuff is pretty new and overwhelming. From extra equipement, to supplements, to daily nutrition goals, I don't even know where to start.

I guess the biggest thing I'm looking for is support(then you've come to the right place!! that's the WHOLE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE!!!)

And I am looking forward to getting support from some BodyBeast gurus and online groups and facebook and all that such.

But the other thing that's churning in my mind more is....I think local, real life, face to face support would be even better. Where does one go to meet locals who use this stuff? How do I find a sub culture of BodyBeast peeps within my own city? I think hanging out with people like that on a semi regular basis would provide the BEST support. I don't really like spending hours hopping through social networking websites(internet is time consuming enough as it is, what with email and all). It'd be better to call someone up and discuss daily goals and achievements and advice etc in person.

Lurch150, you look to be in the same situation i was and always been, a hardgainer, lean and tall guy, skinny with narrow shoulder.

I did Body Beast and gained 6 pounds while lowering my body fat by 4%. I did a few rounds of P90X and P90X2 before and i would get leaner and builded some muscle mass but not that much as these programs are not meant to gain size but more at ripping your body.

I don't know where you live but good luck finding someone near you that is doing body beast and that can help you out.
