Hey there!

I personally have done both of them and I feel that Insanity/The Asylum is more difficult than P90X because of how challenging it is to even do the moves in Asylum.

What kind of result are you looking for?

That's a subjective question. The cardio in Asylum is much harder, but there is a lot more resistance in P90X and I got better results from that. I also did it first so I was in a different starting point for Asylum. What are your goals?

The above posters are right!

What are you goals? If you have specific goals we can suggest specific programs to give you the results you want! emoticon

I want to get ripped. I don't need to lose fat because I'm average, not too skinny, not too fat.

If you aren't already in great shape, you should do p90x first. It's 3 months and is designed for someone who is entirely out of shape into the best shape of their life. I haven't done asylum though plan to in the new year. The way it seems to me though is asylum is a 30 day "top up" for lack of a better word. It's designed for people who are already in great shape. With 30 days there really is no adjustment period. If you tackled it first by the time the 30 days was up you would just be starting to feel good from the workouts. Do yourself a favor and save it for after p90x.

Having done both, Asylum is harder. Hands down.

Now does that mean it will give you better results? Not necessarily. Asylum like all of the Insanity series has a huge cardio/endurance component added into everything else you're doing. It's definitley designed for someone who is already in pretty great shape.

I've done Insanity/P90X/Asylum/X2. The biggest results definitely came from Asylum, but I did X2 after Asylum and it's a freaking fantastic program as well and if I had done it first I'm sure my results would have been similar to what I achieved doing Asylum.

So, long story short, I think P90X is a great starting point and offers more resistance work. Asylum can be a good next step and will definitely push you to new limits.

Then do P90X. And pay close attention to the nutrition part.
