Hi

I just finished first month of Insanity. It's going well. However I need to get some muscle mass too. Is it possible to add 2 gym workouts / week ?? Will gym mess up the whole effect of Insanity?

I see it like that:

Monday: Insanity
Thuesday: Insanity
Wednesday: Insanity
Thursday: Gym
Friday: Insanity
Saturday: Insanity
Sunday: Gym

You can definitely go to the gym a few days a week. I would actually cut one day of insanity, so you have one OFF day a week to let your body rest. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Depends what you do at the gym. If you do heavy resistance, you will likely struggle with Insanity. And you need at least a day off a week. Bear in mind constant work without rest will limit your results.

How much muscle do you think you would put on in 1 month while also doing insanity, with only 2 workouts a week and no rest days anyway??

My personal opinion is that building muscle and completing Insanity are goals that work in the opposite direction of each other, and thus should not be attempted together. I say pick one to focus on, do it right, and then transition to the other.

Just my 2 cents though...

I have two weeks left of Body Beast and have had good results. I want to try Insanity next, but I want to limit the amount of muscle I loose, so I am planning on doing a doubles routine whenever I can using the Body Beast Total Body routine.
I have done doubles before with P90X without having any issues. If it becomes too much, I may have to make some adjustments.
You may be able to do the same. I would say to experiment a little to see what will work for you.
