Don't be discouraged. You're the first person I replied too because I was feeling the same way. I am too just starting and I haven't worked out fir a long time and the fit test, put me in my place of how out of shape I am. I'm on day 3 on insanity that I can hardly walk (I actually had to call in sick) but when it hurts you know it is working. The pain reminds me of how hard I'm trying to be healthy and that is motivation alone. You can do it! Just hang in there.

Hello Im also a mother of 3 girls & Im 32 & 5'7 i was 270 lbs when I stared my weight loss journey......Im now weighing in at 167lbs.
So i know for sure you can do this. You need to remember that the weight did not get there over night & its not going to come off over night. this helped me big time to understand its going to take time & commitment. I could only do what I could at first & as I stuck with it everyday it got to where I could keep up with the video's. So my advise to you is do what you can...if you have to take 10 breaks take 10 breaks.....I sometimes took many more than that....lol But I continued to push play & didn't pause the videos so that way i knew the next time i was working harder when I was not resting. Plus just watching them while you take a break will help you get to know the moves better. MY main focus was staying healthy for my kids emoticon I hope this helps. let me know if you need help with anything else emoticon CARLIE

Thank you both for responding! It is already a motivation just having you respond!

Mgiustina- Kuddos for doing Insanity...I am nowhere close to being able to doing that one, But maybe one of these days!

Coach Carlie- It is so wonderful to hear from someone who was where i am at right now! What workouts did you start out with/are at now? And how long have you been on your journey?

One thing I heard Shaun T say, is if you take a break, don't turn off the video. Take a breather, get some water, stay close, maybe start doing a few of the modified moves... I've yet to be able to completely finish a video, my goal is to do more minutes than I did last time.

You are so right on with this! I hope to hear about it when you do. I know you will get stronger every time & before you know it you'll be flying through the videos emoticon

Hey first of all, congratulations in taking so a beautiful big step in your life, I admire you very much!

First of all, everything start in the kitchen, to see good results, well nutrition should be complete and healthy emoticon If you need help with that, don't hesitate.

As for as the workout goes, I would go with something of a little bit less intensity than the Insanity and stuff like that...maybe you can get back into shape a bit with something like slim in 6 or Brazilian but lift emoticon

If you need help finding the proper workout program I can also help you out emoticon

Once again, so proud of you!!! You will do great!

Great for you!

I'm just starting also. So I don't reply with much authority, but I'm with Julie... don't start with a program that is too intense. I was going to start with P90X until I read more about it. It sounded like the Power 90 program was better designed for a out of shape person for me to get going with. So that's where I'm rolling.

Also, the program guide stresses the idea of NOT OVERDOING it. Overdoing it will definitely discourage you and keep you from staying on track to a 90 day goal.

Hang in there... make it to at least a 90 day mark. I hope to see you there.

Everyone has given you great advice and I agree with them. Stay focused on your goals and your WHY! Why are you pressing play? Why did you make the decision to lose those pounds? Each time you want to throw in the towel, remember your "why" and take it one day at a time. Getting in shape is NOT a sprint. It's a marathon emoticon Each day you will get a little better and a little better and then before you know it you won't be able to believe that's you doing those workouts.

My next suggestion is an accountability group... Are you part of one?

Again... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to all who have replied! It is wonderful! I was thinking of doing the slim in 6 to start out with due to the fact that i am very out of shape and cant keep up with too much right now! Plus I do not want to gain muscle. I just want to lose inches and weight for now and then work on the muscle part later! I am not apart of any accountability group. Do you think it will help?

Hello, congrats for starting- that is your first step! I have used the Beach Body products for quite a while- a good starter is the Slim in Six, then Turbo Jam after you have mastered that. By that time, you can go to 10 Minute Trainer. Insanity, P90, and P90X2 are definitely doable, just give your self time to get adjusted to your new in shape status! Eat clean, even baby steps help, and take your before pics!! Even if you are not seeing results on the scale, pictures will show you your progress- and remember it takes 90 days, so keep pushing play! By the way, I am 53, 2 kids, and have lost over 70 lbs using the Beach Body products! It did not go on overnight, and by doint it slowly, all the weight has stayed off, my mindset is now healthy, and I don't miss any of the junk food I used to eat. Remember, you can modify the moves, and it will work, and you will lose the weight- also, write down what you are eating, that helps trememdously!! Pick your workout time, and make it your time- and you will see results in no time!! Good luck emoticon

Just remember that ANY movement is better than none at all. I've been trying to adopt the look forward not back philosophy. I used to beat myself up for what happened yesterday. You can't change the past, but you can look ahead. Think of all the reasons why you want to start and keep those in mind. We ALL fall off the wagon, have bad days, etc. You CAN do it. Baby steps..

Please let me know if I can help in any way.
