weight gain weight loss fitness program tweaks
11/27/12 9:32 AM
Hello,

I am looking into buying a fitness program, after trying others before I have narrowed it down to a couple. My goal is NOT weight loss, I am a small build (i.e. skinny) and looking to gain size, weight and of course muscle. Is this the right program for me?

Are there any tweaks to the program that you would recommend to gain weight, rather than lose it which seems to be the biggest goal of the users of the program? Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Dustin

If you are looking purely into putting on mass, P90X may not be the program for you, it is more geared to over all fitness than to gaining mass. There is a mass gaining schedule written by Steve Edwards but I think you may want to take a look at Body Beast. That program is 100% designed to get you big.

Hey there Valiant.

I have done P90X, Insanity and am currently doing P90X2. I do not consider P90X a weight loss program.

What winds up happening is that many people burn off a lot of excess weight/fat while on the program because they modify their diets and become more active. The fat burns off and the muscle develops. P90x WILL develop muscle and you can do a classic program and max out at 8 to 10 reps with heavier weights to gain mass.

The other program that you might want to consider is body beast. That is purely aimed at building muscle.

Let me know if you have any additional questions and good luck with your choice of program!
