My Body Beast experience
My Body Beast experience

I completed the Huge Beast version, per the book, also complying as close as I could to the diet. I definitely gained both some muscle and fat. The only problem I had was, I did not lose any of the fat in the final beast mode section. I am redoing that while incorporating some old fashioned P90X plyometrics and kenpo and cardiox and I am on the P90X fat burner (50% protein) diet. That is working well as I am losing fat and keeping the muscle.

Has anyone else had trouble with best mode? I will definitely go through another Body Beast cycle, but will try the Lean Beast version this time.

Can you please share your detailed diet? I am also on the fat burner diet (about 2000 calories/day), and I am having a lot of trouble hitting my protein macros.

While in build and bulk I was eating 3700 calories, 25% protein, 50% carbs and 25% fat.

In beast mode I cut back to about 2700 calories, 40% protein, 30% carbs and 30% fat. This did not really work at all.

In my second cut, where I added more cardio, I am eating 3000 calories, 50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fat. This is working. I am losing fat and keeping or maybe even slowly gaining muscle. All the numbers are approximate, as you can only get so close in reality. I do drink protein shakes to get enough protein. It would be very tough to get this much protein without protein powder.

How many protein shakes do you drink a day? I am up to two, and I really don't want to go to three, but it looks like I will have to.

Daveinpain : Can you please share more information about your starting bodyfat and weight and at the end of bulk phase and at the end of beast phase. How many calories did you take in at each phase.

A workout program does not give the same results to everybody, sometimes you have to modify get the best results.

That what i did, i added 200-400 calories to the one i calculated from the book as i wasn't gaining any weight at the beginning.

Daveinpain;

I had the same issue with Beast. I gained quite a few pound of fat (I would guess 6-10) on the program. I also gained about 6ish pounds of muscle I think.

Everyone is different no doubt. I also fell victim to a friggin typo in the Body Beast book, in which it called for 2 scoops of Fuel Shot per day. They posted on the forums here that it should be 1. That small issue cost me fat gains as well. Believe it or not, those additional calories over 12 weeks can make a difference, as I noticed.

I *may do this program again after my 6 month strength program with the knowledge I have now, with small modifications to calories.
