Second Round P90X, July 1 2013
motivation support begginer
7/1/13 2:11 PM
A little about myself, I am a twenty six year old male who was originally born in California back in 86, I lived there for five years then moved to Utah where I learned a variety of sports like snowboarding, rock climbing, and Mt biking. Ever since I could remember I was always looking for an adrenalin rush, whether it be pulling off the biggest trick out of my friends, or paddling out on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii to try and catch some waves; and lets just say my first week wasn't all begginers luck.

I just started P90X on Monday, November 26, 2012 for the first time, so today being my third day I worked Shoulders and Arms, and I do have to say, I brought it today, and I am feeling so sore, but great. Feeling sore in my legs from Plyo, arms and abs from today, and I'm just exhausted. My chest and back were pretty sore yesterday; however, I seemed to have made a nice recovery.

Age: 26
Height: 5'11"
Starting Weight: 221.6 lb
Body Fat: 30.1%
Arms: 15"
Chest: 47"
Stomach: 44"
Waist: 40"
Thighs: 25
Calves: 16.5"

Goals: Body Fat 10%, Waist 32", Simple!

All that aside, I understand that those numbers don't mean nothing until I actually do something about them. I am planning to stick this out for the entire 90 days. Anyways, looking forward to joining this team in all your efforts and support. So, lets bring it!

Day 4, Yoga X

Fewwhh, what a workout! I was dripping sweat like crazy for the first half then was slowly progressing to where I could do most of the poses. If 100% of the workout meant that you held every pose with perfect posture and for the allotted time, then I would say that I completed the workout at about 75 percent. I am happy with my results for my first time around. I have always felt like I was pretty flexible due to the outdoor athletic sports I have been accustomed to.

Anyways, just checking in with my day 4, and hope the best for you guys!;)

Day 5, Legs and back, Ab Ripper X

Wow, what a day. I am starting to get super tired, can barely hold my head up straight.emoticon I liked the workout today however my legs were killing from the day before, I stuck it out and gave it all I had. I give myself a 65% completion for Legs and Back, and a good 75% for the Ab Ripper X. I could tell a significant difference in my ability to complete the ab workout today, I do have to say that I'm not perfect at it yet; however, thats all the reason I only give myself a 75% completion. Again this is my first week and am starting to see results already.

Thanks everyone, and Keep Bringing It!

Alright yeah, Saturday morning and I had a huge breakfast. I woke up rolled out of bed, literally rolled out, and felt extremely hungry. So I spoiled myself and ate over 7 hundred calories of food I had put together in my kitchen. Since Monday I have been eating really bland tasting food due to not mixing delicious tasting food groups together. Yesterday I craved breakfast tacos, which is what I had today.

Four corn tortillas, figured to load up on carbs early in day, egg whites and one whole egg, tillamook smoked cheddar (1 oz), four slices turkey bacon, four teaspoons fresh salsa, cholula hot sauce which I believe helps burn calories, and a 8 ounce glass of pure silk coconut milk which is super deliciousemoticon

I also supplement with the following: Natural test booster, MuscelPharm Shred Matrix, Due to high protein intake throughout the day I also add a fiber cleanse to give me that extra boost ;)

Pre-workout: I take in one scoop of MuscelPharm's Assult drink mix 45 to an hour prior to workout.

Post-workout: GNC multivitamin, BCAA's, glutamine, chromium, shred matrix, 45 g Syntha 6 Chocolate protein. All this stuff I take as soon as workout is finished, I read in article a few years ago that this is called the Window of Opportunity, and this is when your body goes into an extreme anabolic state and shuttles everything into your muscles like a rocket. I don't know about you, but this makes sense to me! Hearts pumping, bloods flowing, this is when you feed your body what it needs. If you need carbs fast, this is the time, if you need protein fast, this is it, if you feel like your immune system is down, this is the time to shuttle in vitamins an minerals..

Today I plan to start my workout around noon if anyone wants to join in, feel free!

Day 6, Kenpo X

This workout is at high rev the entire time. I am completely exhausted, I give myself a 75% effort for today as I feel that I could do better. As the days go on and am getting near the end of my first round I want to be able to say that I can do every exercise 100%. I will give everything I have till then!

Just checking in my daily progress, keep it up everyone!

Hey how's it going? Sounds like you're doing awesome.

Today I did Max Interval Circuit. It kicked my butt to say the least. I have been doing Asylum Volume 2 and got a stupid cold the second week so it messed my schedule up. I decided to restart this Monday and I'm mixing in MAX workouts from the original Insanity in the meantime. I'm planning on a round of P90x or some sort of hybrid in the near future.

Great job tracking nutrition!

Andrew

P.S. I'm going boarding tomorrow at Mt Baker! 2 feet of snow today and more on the way tonight, should be a great day tomorrow!

Day 7, X Stretch

Starting last night I could hardly walk around the house, my calve muscles had the sharpest pain I have ever felt. Up untill this morning I could bounce around walking like a dead zombie lol, it sucked.

Now after the x stretch I feel a million times better, my calves have improved drastically, and I am now ready to begin another week first thing in the morning.emoticon

That's cool! You know what I learned today, is to have fun, stay positive, and more important is to live in the moment. Not in the future and not your past.

I was watching a movie like a half hour ago, and I kept thinking geez tomorrows gonna be crazy again. Chest, shoulders and back, last time I did this workout I almost puked lol, partly because I ate to much and drank a giant sized pump-you-up energy drink right before, haha. Besides that though, I couldn't enjoy my movie, I was dwelling on the workout for some reason. However, I began to calm my thoughts and said to myself to live in the moment, don't think about the workout until it comes, but when it does give it all you got.;)

Day 8, Chest and Back/ Ab Ripper X

I killed it today compared to last week, I was able to do almost all of the push ups without the help of my knees. I did a little over ten reps per exercise, and did use the help of a chair for my pull-ups. However, I did try to do as many as I could without the chair and was able to at least one to three max reps of each pull up workout! So I am very happy with my progress this week. Also want to post up a weekly update of my physical progress!

Wieght: 221
Body Fat%: 25.8
Left/ Right Arm: 15.5"
Chest: 45"
Stomach: 44"
Waist: 39.5"
Thighs: 25"

As you can see I did not drop any weight, but I'm thinking that my body is just filling up with a good amount of water and that I am building a significant amount of muscle. There is a slight drop in my body fat and waist size since last week, so I am seeing results. Anyways I feel great, and I just wanted to write my daily post!

Day 9, P90X Plyometrics

Wow, I am tired today. Can hardly sit still to type this message. Plyometrics rips your body to pieces from the inside out. I could tell a huge improvement today then I did from last weeks first try. I'm guessing that the second week is one of the biggest performance changes, I don't know though kind of guessing here. First week I could hardly get off the ground with most of the exercises, this week I'm catching air off the ground for most of the video. Day ten is tomorrow, and so far I am satisfied with the P90X workout, keeps me guessing and curious as to what will comes next.

P90X Is Pretty Awesome!

Day 10, Shoulders and Arms

What a day for shoulders and arms, my Bowflex Selecttech Dumbbells really do the trick. I worked my upper body like crazy today and am curious as to how sore I will be in the morning. I have been staying on top of my supplements, in which I believe make for quick and almost painless recovery.

Day 11, Yoga X

Yoga X, what a workout. I don't know about the majority of the community but I seem to like the yoga portion. It really gets me sweating within the first twenty minutes, then there's an hour still left to follow. Are you kidding me, wow! Serious workout for serious people. Nuff saidemoticon

Another day checking in, and hope the best for everybody!

Day 12, Legs and Back/ Ab Ripper X

I definitely said hello to legs and back today, this is a high burn workout on the legs. This workout had me breathing hard the whole time. I did notice a dramatic change in results from last week. I kept telling myself how important it is to have as much strength as possible in my legs in order to be able to complete the rest of the workouts without problems. I will admit that this is my least favorite workout so far; however, I do realize the importance of this workout, and I believe that it will be a huge benefit for my physical goals.

Day 12 check in, and will do it again tomorrow!

nice job so far.

selecttech dumbbells are awesome for this.

I started my second round on the 26th also. You will be getting better and better. Keep challenging yourself and pushing yourself to improve each week.

Look at day 30. People say that is a huge milestone for people sticking it out. Let's say, 15% of people finish p90x.... but 85% who make it to day 30 finish (pulled out of my a$$, but someone told me something like that which helped motivate).

95% of your success depends on diet. Follow it and be disciplined. Think about extending "Phase I" of the diet plan as it is a complete fat shredder (by the end you will crave to eat a whole box of cheerios though).

It is a huge advantage to like/appreciate the Yoga X. I call it an 'oil change' as it kind of works the entire body, but it a different, more soothing way than the rest of the rigerous workouts.

Same as Kenpo. The whipping of your limbs I believe does a lot of positive things and helps your muscles heal. That one will become easy though and I recommend a pair of waited gloves.

When you do Core Synergistics, Chest, Shoulders, and Tris, and Back/Bis, be ready to be a bit humbled. You get used to the first workouts and these are a little frustrating the first time.

keep it up
