I essentially stripped off some of my skin (EDIT: Off my forearms) doing high-plank, low-plank work.

I'm doing the Neosporin and Band-Aid thing right now for healing.

I would like to know what folks do, if anything, to protect their skin during workouts on carpet. Regular Band-Aids won't last two reps...

I just realized I didn't mention the skin I stripped off was on my forarms... I'll edit the OP.

And yeah, I guess I can wear long sleeves to prevent it once I heal, but I need to keep with the program now!

Look into a bandage that is like an ace bandage but will stick to itself. I only know it by the name "vet wrap" but I have seen it in my grocery store with the bandaging products. It is soft, wont tear your skin and sticks to itself so you wont need tape or other things to keep it in place.

Google "athletic arm sleeves" and you'll come up with a good variety of those stretchy arm covers you see all the pro-sports guys wearing to keep their million dollar arms warm.

You could get a yoga mat or a larger fitness mat

That's really ouchy! I did the same thing and before I realized it, it was too late
and I had rug burned both elbows!
I use a yoga mat or put two small pillows under each hand/elbow.
The wrap sounds like a good idea too...hmmmm

Thanks for the info everyone!

I'm happy they were easy to find and are working.
