Just started Turbo Fire today and need help....
Showing 11 results.
Hey everyone,
I just started TF today and did my first workout and I'm totally discouraged! I'm ready to send it all back! I have pretty decent coordination and dance skills but I have never felt so lost in a workout program before. I don't know what to do to help learn the moves, I feel like I didn't get much of a workout in today because I was too busy trying to figure out what she was doing. Anyone have any suggestions as to what and how I can make this workout easier to learn?

Hi Jessica!

I have 2 left feet and it took me a few times to get the moves down- it takes time. Did you see the new to class option? It goes through the moves so you learn them. You should see this option on the dvd menu.

I love TF! I would love for you to join us at the support thread I just started: Support & Motivation Thread

What is your goal with Turbofire?

Happy to help!

Cheers!

Jessica,

give yourself a few more days. I felt the same way, but after doing a workout more than once it got easier. Just remember to keep moving, if you get a move wrong so what - we arent on stage LOL! The first workout I did I was discouraged as well, but it gets so much better!

TF is a lot of fun, give it a week and see what you think then.

If I can help at all please let me know. Shoot me a buddy request if you'd like.

Definitely "KEEP MOVING!" is great advice! emoticon

If you get behind or can't figure out the next combo, just keep doing something you know until you're ready to jump back in. I swear for the first few times, all I did was keep Jab, Cross, Hook, Uppercut over and over while watching the class going through something else. But I still got sweaty and great workout!

It takes time...do the New to Class, and/or view the discs ahead of time where you can pause and play to walk yourself through the moves. Eventually, you will get it. Honestly, I'm 40 days in, and there are still combos in Fire 30 that I never get right, but I just tweak it to my own similar move that I can do and still get a workout...remember, it's also the intensity that you put in, not necessarily that you do it all correctly!

Good Luck! emoticon

Hi Jessica,
My husband and I started this program two weeks ago and are just starting to get it! It's tough. Neither one of us are very coordinated, so it may take us a little longer. Hang in there, it gets better!

Hi Jessica,

whatever you do DON'T give up!! OMG Chalene and TurboFire have changed my life!

I, too, was completely uncoordinated when I began, but I fell in love with Chalene's inviting, crazy positive, and just down right awesome personality, so I stuck with it! Chalene and TurboFire have forever changed my life!

Just like others have said, try the new to class option for a few times, or follow Alee, who modifies all the workouts! You WILL get better, and it DOES get easier to follow... like with all great things, it just takes a little extra time emoticon

The results are freaking amazing! I have been working out with Chalene to TurboFire for nearly a year. (1 yr in Jan) I am completely addicted to it, I look forward to working out to her program EVERY day. Seriously, it is very hard for me to take a day of "rest," I have to remind myself that our bodies need rest, but it is really hard emoticon

I have been so successful with this program. I have lost 35 lbs, countless inches, changed my body and my mind, and completely transformed my life!

If you are looking for support and motivation, pop on by my thread. It is for ANYONE doing TurboFire, (or any workout for that matter)
I am just a TF junkie emoticon

Hey Jess! I was the same way. Infact the first time I tried it, I didn't end up touching it until 3 months later after completing Insanity and being a month into Chalean Extreme. I promise you'll get it! and there is no better feeling than when you get a combo!

ultimately i think it comes down to one simple question. forget about the why of it. just ask yourself 'will you actually do these workouts'? If the honest answer is no, send it back and get something else. The best workout program is the one you will actually do.

personally i felt exactly the same as you about turbofire. I had no interest in learning long dance routines and felt barely exercised. Partially because i was spending all my time trying to figure them out, and partially because these workouts are 'easier' than some of the other programs beachbody offers and I wanted more of a challenge. P90x and insanity are more what i am looking for and hence what i do.

Also, if you can find one near you, join a beachbody fit club. Our local one does a different workout each week from all sorts of different programs so you get a taste of everything and can make a better decision on which program you will stick with and enjoy.

So my advice is to give it an honest chance, but do not feel bad if this workout is not for you. If the answer is no, send it back before the time to get your money back expires and get something you like better.

Definitely don't even consider sending it back just. My advice is do the New to Class option a couple of times. And even if you don't get it exactly right, don't worry about it. The point is to be moving. You don't have to every punch, every kick exactly right to burn calories. Just keep moving. Give it a couple weeks and then see how you feel about it.

When I first started Turbo Jam, I had a hard time figuring out the moves. But after a couple weeks, I had it down. Having done Turbo Jam, I had a bit of an advantage with Turbo Fire since a lot of the moves are similar. So don't worry, it's a bit of a learning curve but so worth it and much more fun than any other workout which means, in the long run, you'll probably be more likely to stick with it. Just don't give up yet!

JUST KEEP MOVING! Your body doesn't know it isn't getting the moves down perfectly. You are burning calories regardless. The worst thing to do would be for you to just stand there trying to figure it out. Don't give up. It WILL happen. You have the "new to class" option. Practice makes perfect. Turbofire is an AMAZING program that will definitely yield results.

hey, I just started like 6 days ago, and I can understand you! what I do is, I make sure to have extra time(since I do it in the morning) and if I have to rewind two or three time, I just do it! trust me, fire 30, I manage to follow the first 2 sets, but the third one, lord, I still sit and watch! lol, don't feel discourage! try watching them first, and do what you can! besides, it's only kicks and punches! emoticon do you know how to ride a bike? well, you didn't learn the first day, did you? this is the same thing, just keep trying!!! any movement is better than no movement!! and the music, is def a plus!!!

best of luck!!!
