SLIM IN 6
SLIM IN 6

I'm starting Slim in 6 on Monday 12/3/12! I'm super excited to get started!

For those of you that workout every day and maybe take shakeology I need your help!

So I'm not much of a morning person but I think I might get up early and try and see how that works. Is it bad to do just the workout when you have time? Or does it need to be the same time every day?

Also I was thinking of taking my shakeology every morning for my breakfast, but I also heard that I should take my shakeology after my workouts. I thought that if I took my shakeology in the morning that it would help me out the rest of the day. So those of you that maybe do that what kind of things do you have after your workout other than a supplement?

If I workout in the morning couldn't I just take my shakeology after?

Thanks!

Two short answers: work out when you can. And drink shakelogy whenever you want emoticon

Lots of people work out in the morning. Some before breakfast, some after breakfast. Some workout at lunch. Some during their kids' nap time. Some when they get home after work and some even after dinner. As a general rule you should finish working out a few hours before you go to bed.
The point is to push play every day emoticon
(I'm not a morning person, but I get up early to knock out my workout because if I wait until later int he day, it never gets done.)

As far as Shakeology, I drink it every day for breakfast. Sometimes, I also have it for a snack. It is roughly 300 calories (when you add milk), so it is a very healthy option. I find I like it every morning. I think the B vitamins in it give me a little extra boost in the morning.

A lot of people drink recovery drinks after a hard workout to replenish electrolytes and proteins that you sweat out during the workout. Some drink water, gatorade, or recovery protein shakes (like shakeology). Chocolate milk works too. You don't have to have a recovery drink.
I am usually starving after I workout, so I have a little snack usually - like a sliced apple, glass of milk and a lot of water. Or I will have a sandwich or some oatmeal. Or sometimes, I drink water and go about my day. There is a 2 hour window that follows working out where your body is primed to receive good nutrients more efficiently, so bottom line, try to put something healthy in your body during that time.

Good luck!

Congrats on starting a new program!

I am not much of a morning person at all, but I have found the staying on a routine is best. I wake up early before anyone gets up & get my workout in. Also use a pre-workout drink to help wake up & push through the workout! It was a welcomed surprise that I could just get right up & jump into a workout. It took a couple of days crawling out of bed but I love it now. Studies have shown For the best results It should be the same time everyday.

I drink my Shakeology every morning. No matter when you drink your ShakeO its going to help you. I just prefer mine in the morning. I know of others that use it after a workout, dinner & lunch or for snack. Really its up to you. But if your not using a post workout drink & yes I do drink one of those too. You may want to use it as a post or even start drinking it half way through your workout in the morning if you get a little dizzy or feel tired.

To make it much more simple on myself I use a post workout drink. Instead of wonder what to eat. Really for the cost of the post workout drink compared to the cost of post work out food. You would do better just to always know what your putting in after a workout will feed your body what it needs, repair it & help with soreness. You do only have about 30min to 1hr after a workout to feed your body for the best results.

I consider myself somewhat lazy and I do not like to get up early. Before 830am is early to me. LOL. On the days I work, (mon-fri) I need to be there at 8am, so if I am going to keep my exercise commitment I need to be up at 530am or at the latest 6am or I won't have time. I have done slim in 6 start it up 2 times daily since Sunday 12/30 and really don't want to miss doing it because I will feel I have failed keeping my commitment. I just try not to focus on the time of day, just that I don't want to miss getting to say I did it! This sounds silly, but I like to use a "star" chart to log the days I exercise or other goals I have, kind of like when I was a kid and mom gave me a gold star for eating all of my supper. This is motivating to me. Good luck!
