kaijah8:
I have lost 15 pounds and have another 15 to go. I seem to have found myself stuck at the same weight and wondering if Im not eating well enough or perhaps not even enough food. Here is what I did to lose the first 15. Prior to changing my lifestyle, I ate fast food for every meal and often ate snack food in the middle of the night. I never worked out. I decided enough was enough. My first step was changing my diet. I cut out soda, snacks and sweets. I began doing crunches, leg lifts, leg extensions, push ups and a few others. I lost my first 15 pounds this way and got stuck. After getting stuck 3 weeks ago, I changed my diet even more. I eat rather well (I will give an example) and began insanity. I havent dropped a pound and I dont see any noticeable inches. Could I not be eating enough? Here is an example of my diet:
Kashi go lean crunch cereal
silk light milk
pure protein chewey chocolate chip bar
grilled chicken
wheat tortilla wrap
light ranch
lettuce tomato
mixed fruit
baked chicken
mixed veggies
small sweet potato
I drink 8 glasses of water, at least.
Calories are usually around 1200, but go up to 1400 depending on what I eat during the day as I may have an apple with breakfast or lunch.
Hi Kaijah8,
First, great job on making some many healthy changes to your diet! You are moving in the right direction. You just need to tweak some things. First, you need to increase your calories to 1700-2000 /day. With Insanity you are not consuming enough. This is why you have slowed in your weight loss. Your muscles are looking for nutrients to help recover from the workouts and rebuild the muscles....If they doesn't have food resources, then the body self cannibalizes. Think of food as fuel.
Add a serving of fruit or veggies with you protien bar....get rid of light ranch ( High Fructose Corn Syrup = sugar) Add a protein to your fruit snack, like Greek yogurt.
This is just some basic info to help. I'll send you a buddy request. I would be happy to help you a little more in detail, if you like.
