Happy December! My name is Rebecca and I am Beachbody Coach and all around Beachbody addict (the first step is admitting it). These products have changed my life and I want to post a thread to see what others are up to and how I can help you or how we can all share the addiction together!

I started my journey with P90X in January 2010 and have not looked back since! P90X Plus, Hip Hop Abs, Yoga Booty Ballet, Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, Brazil Butt Lift, P90X2, Insanity, and Insanity Asylum were soon to follow. Through encouragement from my coach, Mike Lamb, I became a Beachbody Coach and have just started to actively work to share and build a team to join this journey of health and fitness with me.

Working full time at a desk, being a wife and mother of a fantastic 6 year old boy, finding the time to work out became a quick priority as the energy and happiness took over my life! I lost 45 pounds doing Beachbody workouts and live in fear of seeing them come back! Clean eating and working out are now my life and 2 years later I could not believe in what Beachbody promotes any more than do because I am living proof.

On to the workouts: I am finishing up an Insanity Asylum 1/P90X2 Hybrid this week and was looking for my next workout. After finishing up following a program, I usually mess around with old programs or try new ones, so in honor of the holiday season I came up with the 15 days of Christmas workout and wanted to share this on the message boards as a review of some of my favorite workouts as well as a few ones new to me that I wanted to try out. Please share your favorites or what you are doing this holiday season!

Nutrition: I will add in 15 Shakeology recipes, both old and new to me, and want to share those as well – if anyone has some good recipes you have tried please share! I just ordered the new Vegan Chocolate and am looking forward to trying that out soon.

Let’s share, have fun and a great holiday season!

"Enjoy the Journey." Tony Horton, P90X2 Yoga

Just finished up with Yoga today. I have decided that a weekly Yoga session is non-negotiable. I just did a 30 day Hybrid program and have not done Yoga in a couple weeks and felt it today! I do best doing Yoga on the weekend. It tend to make me noodley which is not too good for my work schedule. Plus the weekend gives me more of a chance to Enjoy that Journey!

Looking forward to my "Boot Camp" with Sunday Yoga sessions. A non-negotiable for me!

P90X Yoga tomorrow!

shakeology
12/9/12 8:43 PM as a reply to BeattieFit.
Launching the 1st of the 15 days of Christmas with a Shakeology recipe I snagged off the message boards after they made them at Beachbody Headquarters. What a better recommendation than that?

Taking them to work tomorrow to get the girls opinion, but both my husband and 6 year old loved them. My 6 year old thinks we should make them for Santa - and we all know Santa could use some Shakeology!

Looking forward to trying different recipes this week. Let me know if you have any you have tried and want to share too!

Ingredients:
• 1 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
• 1 cup quick cooking oats
• ½ cup honey
• 1 cup Chocolate Shakeology

Preparation:
1. Combine peanut butter, honey, oats and Shakeology in medium bowl. Mix well.
2. Roll 24 balls, each the size of 1 tbsp.
3. Flatten each slightly so takes on the shape of a traditional cookie.

shakeology core synergistics
12/10/12 6:47 AM as a reply to BeattieFit.
Day 1: P90X Core Synergistics! Love this workout. It really hits all the core areas well. It has weights, it has cardio, it has Pam the Blam. Always good to go back and visit with Tony and the kids and work the core!

Favorite Move: Lunge-Kickback-Curl-Press
It hits it all and feels so good to put all those moves together!

Least Favorite: Plank to Chatarunga Run - although I admit I did pretty good compared to past experiences. I have bad wrists and it is not an easy move to do with push up stands.

My workout room is set up so that I can watch tv and the dvd at the same time. Setting it up that way has always helped me. The downside of this is I tend to miss the Tonyisms!

Favorite Tonysim: "That's Core, That's Synergistics" - I think it is the enthusiasm he says it with, but he does a great job of training in the Workout!

So the Shakeology recipe of the day. This morning, Strawberry/Blackberry Lemonade with Greenberry. Greenberry is not my favorite so searching for recipes to spruce it up and use up my supply. I will say this is pretty good, although the lemon is making it a little sour, but all in all it is not too bad. Recipe:

1 serving of Greenberry Shakeology
• Juice of 1 small fresh lemon
• 1/2 cup strawberries
• 1/2 cup blackberrys
• 1 cup water

What are you all doing today to Bring It?

p90x core strength thighs skiing pap 1 round of p90x2
12/12/12 7:55 PM as a reply to BeattieFit.
Hello! Great ski day yesterday! Actually had some powder and got to work out all those reasons why I work out!

Do not recommend Asylum Vertical Plyo before skiing, but it was a short ski day so ended up alright. Stiff Thighs this morning, just in time to do P90X2 - PAP - Lower. Awesome! I am a sucker for any lower body work - I need the work - and this one was great today. Tony and his stretches. Just love that man!

Favorite Move: Slalom - so used to working out with Shawn T as of late, when Tony said it is not about height, it is about getting back and forth as fast as you can, oh yes, I brought it!

Least Favorite: Golly, Side Bridge Lift - I do love those moves where you are not moving but the sweat just gushes off of you - and sums up much of the beauty of P90X2 - I did the best that could, then modified, then skipped the last one. Golly, that hurt!

Note to self: Need to add this to the regular rotation!

This workout reminds me why and how P90X2 took my skiing to a whole other level. Turbo Fire and the Insanities help with the cardio aspect greatly, P90X2 gives me that ability to feel so strong in the core, so balanced and sure on the mountain. Truly awesome and I recommend P90X2 to anyone who wants to improve core strength and blow yourself away.

I must admit I skipped PAP Upper tonight. I am terrible at working out at night and not sure why I thought that would work, but after my hooky on the hill day, needed to stay late at work as well. I will try to squeeze that in at some point i this next week, although am going to try my hand at snowboarding with my 6 year old on Sunday. Wish me luck!

Shakeology post to follow!

Is there someone out there with a good Greenberry recipe? Help, I am done! I have half a box and I am done!

Some beautiful strawberries gave their precious life today for something that looked so good, but had such a bad after taste. Not good!

Recipe from the 2011 Greenberry Shakeology recipe winner:

Strawberry Cheesecake by Sharon Tinsley
1 serving of Greenberry Shakeology
• 1 oz. light cream cheese
• 1 cup strawberries
• 1/2 cup almond milk
• 1/2 cup water

2 thumbs way down! This may be much improved with Tropical Shakeology. May try that next week. Tomorrow I have to try the Vegan Chocolate!

Can't believe I am on day 9 and have not posted in few days! Have been working it!

Today was Hip Hop Abs Extreme: Have not done this one in a long time! Now realize that I tried Insanity after P90X and was not ready to hang with Shaun T. Hip Hop Abs looked more mild so I got it and really liked it. I think I am more into choreography than Insanity and needed the workup to the cardio to tackle Insanity.

Love how Fun Shaun T is. I just finished Insanity Asylum so good to see the rhythmic Shaun T in action again!

Favorite Moves: Get Busy and Hit the Floor which works my problem area!

This dvd is a great workup to Insanity, I worked up a sweat this morning that is for sure, and it put a smile on my face! emoticon I also remember those days when I had trouble with some of the moves and today was great. So awesome to see the progress from over a year ago!

I did not do the arm/ab section with weights. Did P90X Shoulders and Arms yesterday so did not need the weights, but it is always fun to go through the motions without.

Good Morning! Chalean Extreme: Burn It Off and Recharge workouts. I have not done either before and was looking forward to seeing what she brings. I think Chalene is great at hitting those areas of mine that need some work and this workout did not disappoint, except that it was too short, but I still worked up a good sweat! Great at targeting the legs.

Favorite move: Screamers - "Every muscle in your leg will be screaming."

Best advise: "Any workout is better than no workout"

Recharge is 20 minutes of stretches/Yoga. Always needed! Always important!

And in Shakeology news, I am finally trying the Vegan Chocolate. Just blended it up with ice cubes and skim milk. It is good. Tastes like a shake. Not quite as chocolate as the original. Really looking forward to trying the new formula!

I am not an avid Shakeology user. I have always liked to eat my food, and eat pretty well, but when my body feels off or I am short on time, Shakeology always seems to get or keep me on track. I feel off today, so Shakeology it is!

Happy Wednesday!

asylum
12/20/12 5:53 AM as a reply to BeattieFit.
Focus. Shaun T talks in the beginning of Speed and Agility to Focus, "Get your focus and digest it." This week has been a struggle in focus. The holidays, the madness in the world, being burned out at work and looking forward to a break with the family. The ins and outs of life. Trying to regain that focus. It is why I work out and push. To reduce the stress and have focus.

I love Insanity the Asylum workouts. I hated Insanity. I think I actually gained weight during it. I don't think my cardio level would have allowed me to do Asylum without it, and I did it. I mixed in some other workouts with it to keep my focus and get some strength training in too.

I do modify Asylum. I have wrist issues so need to use stands or skip a few moves. I don't have room in my basement to use the jump rope. I got frustrated with the Agility Latter because of space issues. I ditch both, I Focus and I go, and I am dripping in sweat and ready to face the day.

Time to make my favorite breakfast smoothy - blueberrys, protein powder, skim milk and frozen acai. mmmmmm
