I"m really confused on how to eat!
I'm sure all my questions are going to be stupid! lol! BUT - I need help. I recently completed Insanity and I really didn't get the results that I wanted. I am a small person to begin with - I started out 128 lbs and I'm 5'4". I am a 36-year-old mother of 3 children. I have always been very slim (genetics) but as I"ve hit my 30's, things are just hanging around the middle! I completed Insanity last week. I have lost 4 lbs, although I don't really need to lose weight - I need to lose inches. I have not measured myself yet, so not sure where I"m at there, but I'll measure later today. I can see some results, but not the way that I wanted to. I am going to start ChaLEAN Extreme today and I think this will yield the results that I want - TONE!

According to the book in the ChaLEAN program, I should be taking in 1300 calories. According to the Beach Body website - about 1700 (I'm assuming because of the exercise that I'll be doing the 1700 is correct because I'll be burning enough to actually be 1300 -is that right???) I am looking at all the meal plans and the meals in the Fat burning guide from the Chalean program and it just all seems to be SO much preparation - especially when I am obviously a working mother! It's kinda hard to prepare every single meal. Is it ok to just make good choices and count my calories? Will I still get results from the program, as long as I'm eating fresh food, healthy food? All those recipes just kinda intimidate me and sound expensive! Also, Chalene talks about eating a LOW sugar diet. Lower carbs. I have no idea how much sugar or carbs is ok. She doesn't give me a number, which would be more helpful! Any information/advice would be appreciated! I just really want to get toned and look and feel good - without the stress of following all these recipes! Thanks!

Hi! Being a working mother we find it a bit hard to follow a meal plan. Sometimes it jut doesn't work for a big family. I have never followed any food guides from any programs. I rather use them as ideas and see what I can substitute or to make simpler. So go for healthy choices and cooking. Use the meal plan as a guide. As for your intake, go with the 1700 because you'll burn calories bringing your calories down. If you use a calorie/food tracker, carbs, protein, and fats can be tracked. An ideal ratio to follow is 40protein, 40carbs, 20fats.

Btw, congratulations on completing Insanity. Our mid area is the hardest to get rid of. Exercise alone will not give us the look we want. What we eat is just as important. You may have heard others talk about eating clean or clean eating. Clean eating will bring out results. Always be patient. While some ate blessed to get results after one program, some will take several programs and years to get the look they want. ChaLEAN Extreme will definitely get you more toned and lovely lady muscles! I LOVE that program!
