taking shakeology and activit together, how much??
Hi,

Just got my power90 workout plan last week. I did the fat burner cd for a week and then just completed the 2 day fast. Gonna do the fat burner cd for 6 more days with the diet plan recomended with it before starting power90. I ordered the shakeology and the activit vitamins to take with the programs. My question is, I noticed the shakeology has a lot of the same vitamin content as the activit. It says on the activit to take two pills a day. I am having a shakeology every day for breakfast, so should I just take one activit vitamin or still take two? Or do I even need the activit vitamins at all if im taking a shakeology every day? Can you take to much vitamins in one day or not?? Thank you in advance for any info.

Kevplumb: I would take the Activit at night. If you wash your vitamins down with your shakeology you would just be increasing the amount of vitamins, but would not be able to benefit from the absorption. So, take the normal Activit dose before bed.

I'm going to disagree a little bit. I would just do one or the other. You could do Shakeology most days, but on days you don't drink it you can take the vitamins. The reason I say this is you don't want to over-do the vitamins because it could cause health problems if you continually get over the daily amounts over a long period or time, but most of all you are probably just wasting money. Shakeology has all of the vitamins you need and vitamins are best absorbed in liquid form like the shakes. I wouldn't worry about taking the vitamins unless you do a booster like the immunity boost or the slimming formula. I have both of those along with Shakeology and LOVE both of them!!

What are your goals for Power90? I'm guessing you are wanting to lose weight since you are doing the fat burner cds before starting! emoticon Do you have a workout partner that is doing it with you?

I am going to have to disagree with this last statement. Numerous studies show that taking high doses of vitamins are proven to be healthy in the human diet. Certain vitamins, fat soluble, such as vitamin A, D, and E can be harmful but only in EXTREME cases of overdosing. You are not going to receive these does in the multivitamin and Shakeology on a daily basis.

Studies have shown the decrease in vitamin quantities in the foods that we eat everyday. Just from 30-40 years ago vitamin levels in foods have decreased 30-40% because of poor soil. On top of that, most people cook their vegetables whether it be steaming, microwaving, baking, or heating on a stovetop. Cooked vegetables are shown to have 20-40% less nutrients and vitamins than raw. So if you are a person that cooks your vegetables, TAKE BOTH! You are losing almost 60% of the vitamins that these fruits and vegetables are supposed to have. If you do your shake in the am, take the vitamin later in the evening and vise-versa.

Want a great resource for questions on vitamins? Check out some of the food movies on Netflix such as Food Inc, Food Wars, etc. They are great resources on the benefits of vitamin usage in modern society. I hope this helps!
