just started insanity 2day..fit test kicked my butt!!had me leaning all over the walls,gasping for air,and sweat pouring all over me..and its just day 1!! how can i climb this mountain called insanity??i have day 2 tommorow. which the time is flying by, like im in school waiting for a bully to kick my butt when the bell rings!! im in big trouble.but not as big as i am now..5"8 and 270 pounds..how can i move this weight around for 60 days!! how did i even get in this mess!! now im praying,that shaun T can get my butt out of it..is there anybody out there like me?? whos over weight ,and has plyometrics staring them right in their face? just waiting to own me for the longest 42 mins of my life. who can share my pain? can anyone give me some insight? anything that can help!!!

Remember this day!

Did you take your pictures and do your measurements? You may not want to - but in 15, 30, 60 days you will look back and be gald you did.

Remember this day! Everyday is another day you gave it your all! You're doing something now to turn back the clock and kick that question in the a$$ - "how did I get this way" that no longer matters - what matters now is getting up and pushing play - and you obviously have it in you since you've made the choice to live a healthier life.

(ok I'll tell you when I did the fit test - I almost threw up! - no kidding!) Now - I feel like I fly - (on a good day).

Would love to hear your story - send me a buddy request - and if I can ever help with motivation, support or just to help with a bit of a kick to get you going let me know. I've been there...

....THANKS COACH!!!...i woke up this moring sleepy,and scared..lol...log in and your response gave me the motivation to GET UP AND KICK SHAUN T BUTT!!! "ok who am i kidding he kicked my butt all over my family room floor!!"..but with my determation and your words of motivation!! i stood up to the bully "shaun T" and got my butt kicked...lol..but hey im still alive to write about it..DAY 3 tommorrow..I WONT QUIT UNTIL IM FIT!!!....by the way u look great coach!..thanks for offering your help ,and i will reach out to u...emoticon....oh yeah almost forgot..i took my measurements ,and pictures..yes indeed they were shameful..but i will upload results every 2 weeks!!...WITNESS MY JOURNEY!!!

I just finished Insanity. Took my last fit test today. I tell you, I never thought I'd make it through when I started. I was already in semi-decent shape having lost 70 pounds, but I'm almost 50, and I've NEVER worked out this hard.

Just do what you can do. Work on getting the form right. Keep moving as much as you can. Push yourself, but don't KILL yourself. Shaun T will tell you "never compromise form." I found that to be the best advice. Do it the RIGHT way. Take a break if you need to, or modify purposely. Meaning don't just be sloppy with it. If you are modifying, then modify. If not, then do it right or take a break.

You will be amazed at how your body will change and how much stronger you will become. When I started Insanity, I could barely knock out one or two pushups. On today's fit test, I did 28 push up jacks.

So hang in there. Do what you can. Push yourself. Make sure you are eating right, since that's really more than half the battle!

I'm so glad to hear my words helped and please do reach out whenever you need it and even when you dont. It has not only been proven over and over again - but I am here to tell you it work for me too - those who work with others and are active in writing/journeying their accountability and experiences are 90% more successful at reaching their goals!!

Shawn T is going to kick your butt every day - but everyday you get to look in the mirror and smile at the person who has taken the step to improve their health and the way they feel about themselves ===> that would be YOU!

Hi Porkchop!

I don't talk much on the boards, preferring to just "listen in" and learn as much as possible but your energy and passion is definitely evident in your words! (And you referring to Shaun T and Insanity as a bully waiting to kick your butt made me laugh!)

You can do it! Just go your hardest but don't be discouraged if you can't keep up, it will be worth it!

I can't wait to follow your journey!

You're doing good! Keep at it. I remember the first morning like it was yesterday. I felt like I was going to throw up during the workout. Then when I was done and took a shower I had to eat breakfast. I never ate breakfast. However, I followed the nutritional guide about 99%. If you stick with it and make it through the first week it does get easier. My biggest advice is to follow the nutritional guide. I'm convinced that the diet is 75% of the results. You will not see results unless you follow the ENTIRE program. Good luck!

THANKS for the advice!!! thats what im doing ..just do my best and forget the rest.( in tony "s voice)but overall i been trying to really nail my eating!!!..just finshed day 3 this morning ,i been pushing hard and digging deep..!!!

hey laurie!!!...still hangin in there...just got done doing pure cardio,which is torture,but i got threw it,and i even feel better,not that much sore.thanks for checking up on me..im hanging the best i can..DIGGIN DEEP!!!...THANKS EVERYBODY FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT!!

Hello, I began Insanity on the Dec. 6th and I felt the same way you did. Beat up. A little about myself, I'm 5'8" and I started Insanity at 192.1 lbs. I had a heck of a wake up call in October when I weighed and realised I was over 200 lbs(202.4lbs to be exact). The last time I was that heavy was over 6yrs ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. I did TMT and dropped to my present weight and now I'm on my own insane journey to lose some more.

today will be day 4 and i haven't completed a whole workout yet other that the fit test. i am doing my best but after about 20 mins i can't recover enough to finish. i walk around to keep moving like Shaun T says while only watching the rest of the workout but i just can't get back into it.

i don't know if i should pause until i recover or do what i'm doing and keep on trucking to the next day. dam it i am going to finish this 60 day trek!!

porkchop, i know how you feel. i will check in with you often maybe we can keep each other motivated.

I can't wait for the end of the work to rush home so that Shaun T can kick my butt again. after 4 days i am already insane. lol.

thanks all for your motivation and inspiration.

GMoney, you are doing great and going it right. Keep at it and before you know it you'll be kicking butt for the entire workout. Everyone starts at a different level... the most important thing

1. keep going and dont stop
2. you are on here and getting some inspiration and motivation!

Thank you Coach Donna. I am going to keep at it, I have 2 more days of workout this (1st) week before my day of rest, then to start over again on Monday.

I have a question, I have read many posts from others and they seem to have done or doing the PX90 workout and then moving on to Insanity. I have gone from doing nothing straight to Insanity. Have I missed a step? Is PX90 a lesser strenuous workout than Insanity?

I wasn't suckered into buying this program by the advertisements on TV, actually I had decide to get this (after researching because I am ready to get in shape), bought it and then seem to notice all the infomercials on Insanity. What a coincedence!

With that said I think this will be more than a 60 day workout for me to reach the target I am looking for which is mainly to get in shape and loose my pudgy little beer belly. But I've got to wonder if this is going to be too much of a shock to my system. This is NOT my resignation statement, I am doing this, just need to make sure I am going about it in the right way. And like you said "everyone starts at a different level" and i will improve.

I am on day 5 and while I am sore it is definitely not as sore as day 1 and day 2. Actually, I feel pretty dang good. Just do the best you can and don't stop moving! When I get to a point where I can't do what they are doing, I jog in place or walk it out. Don.t think of ShaunT as a bully! He even says himself "that sh*t was bananas!". Best of luck to you and don't feel bad, it kicks everyone's butt!

Insanity lives up to its name but just keep going you can do this and remember recovery drink I thought I was going to die the first two weeks but I got stronger just dig down deep and keep pressing play

I know today was my first day on the insanity , so all i did was the fit test but i havnt really worked out in a LONG TIME! & it was rediculous, its crazy how out of shape someone can get in such a short amount of time from not being healthy! but i did it! and i am ready for the days to come! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! WE CAN DO IT! KEEP DIGGGGIN!

yes emily bananas indeed! but i got though todays workout. couldn't keep up with all the positions but i did stay with it till the very end.

sounds like we started at the same time and working out on the days, i'll try to touch base with you later to share how i'm doing a see how you're doing. good luck
