Missed 2 workouts last week
insanity missing workouts

Last week was week 3 for the insanity program but I had a very tough week and missed Friday and Saturday's workout and Sunday is a day off. So now it's Monday and the start of week 4 but I feel I should do week 3 over. Any advice on if I should redo week 3 or just move on to week 4. Thanks!

Doing the week over is your call. If it will make you feel better to have that accomplishment of finishing out the week - go for it! if not, you can keep going, BRING IT and really make every workout count and make a point to not miss any workouts this week.

Keep up the great work and dont beat yourself up. Just get back at it- NOW! Life happens and we miss a workout every now and then (we get sick, kids get sick, schedules change etc) put it behind you and move forward! Work toward your goal and dont let something small like a missed day set you back!!

Keep up the great work. Feel free to buddy request me - I'd love to hear how you are doing!

You don't say what program you're doing. If it were me I'd just keep on moving forward.

Hey Jaime!

I totally know how you feel! I hate it when I miss a workout and get off schedule, but I remind myself that I am not working out just for those 60 days outlined for me in the program...I am working out for life. Which since you are a runner, you probably have the same mentality emoticon I would do whichever makes YOU feel better about it. You could also make up the workouts this week and then when you get to your recovery week, you can mix in the workouts and be ready to start Month 2 on track. Does that make sense?

Are you following the meal plans as well? Are you trying to lose weight, gain speed, or tone your muscle? Your diet will be 70-80% of your results so make sure even if you miss a workout you don't go overboard with your diet emoticon

I agree with Andrew - moving forward might be your best bet. I've seen people miss a day or two for whatever reason and they psych themselves out and force themselves to do the WHOLE WEEK over because of one day. It seems like this spirals out and is yet another reason they'll give themselves to quit. Don't expect perfection, just do your best. I ended up stacking my missed P90X workouts at the end - it was an extra three days and I wanted to get the full 90 workouts.

The only time I "repeat" a week is if I get only one or two workouts in out of 6-7 - this happened a few times in the last year as I got various kid germs and would be down for a week. In those cases I really didn't feel like I'd started the week.

More good days than bad. Just keep moving forward.

Hi Jamie!

I have had my share of workouts missed. Like Donna said, life happens. I also have been tired and did what is my version of bartering workouts. For instance, if I didn't get proper rest and after working 8 hours I come home and I feel I can't give my workout my all, I will swap a day in the program that week for a workout I think I can put my heart into. I make a note of it on my schedule that I did this and make sure to stick to the swap. Sounds to me like you have the work ethic and discipline to do the same!!

If it was me, I'd pick up with the workouts I left off and move on from there.

As Chalene says in Turbo, these workouts are guidelines for you to follow.. the intensity you workout at is up to you.. as long as you are moving you are burning calories!!! emoticon I know that horseback riding is a workout!! I haven't been on one in a long while, but I remember that my thighs and buns were a bit sore the next day!

Great advice Francine. I also do the same thing at times. If I dont have a full hour or just dont have it in me to give it my all for a full hour I'll do a Turbo Fire HIIT workout or one of the shorter cardio and really bring it.

I know it's less time but as Chalene says if you're work at 100% you can make your workout shorter! Actually last night I did a Fire 30 and truly CRUSHED IT! I usualy dont jump during my workouts because of my knees (my middle name is modify!) but I was flying last night!

Keep up the great work everyone
