P90X (Lean) & Shoes
P90X (Lean) & Shoes

During the CardioX, Kenpo X routines, I experience sharp pain in the arch of both my feet. I am a heavy pronator and for my running had been using the Brooks Beast running shoe. I love this shoe for my running, but having trouble with the pain during the P90X.

During my visits to the local sporting/running stores, I have received lot of conflicting input. I even tried using the recommended (alternate running) shoes with limited success. The jumping jack is sure way to test the shoes for me.

Any recommendations on shoes I should be looking at that will help?

Anybody else had similar issue?

Running shoes are great..... for running. Most people use cross-trainers because of their lower sole profile and better overall balance. Given you're a pronator you might try those. There are also a lot of folks who rave bout the Vibram Five-Fingers and others like that. Might want to find a place with a very liberal return policy and try some out. REI will let you return anything for any reason, including just not like a pair of shoes after you tried them out.

I use Nike Free's for running (Free+ run 3 shield) and training (free 3). I find them super comfy and incredibly responsive.
