Beginner here.. Sore muscles after hip hop abs... PLS HELP
Hi, I recently ordered Hip Hop abs Hips, Bums And Thighs and then I just started doing it yesterday and did 30 mins. walking and 30 mins jogging afterwards..
the next morning I woke up with a very sore thighs emoticon

A while ago I did another workout from Hip Hop Abs called Fat Burning Cardio..
I can't do it properly because of my sore thighs. (they REALLY hurt!)

I wanna know if it is okay to continue working out even if your muscles are like
torn or should I recover first?? How many days should I recover?
should I wait for the pain to go away? Any advice would be great THANKS!

Hi, Whenever you first start a new workout you should try just that workout and see how your body responds. I think because you did the hip & thighs routine then ran & walked you overdid it! If you are having trouble walking sitting or going upstairs then you should probably give yourself two days to recover. If you are feeling a little sore , Not painful just aware of your muscles then try the buns & thighs routine by themselves! See how your body responds. It is normal to be sore/ like I said aware of your muscles. It is not good to be in pain. Moderation is key because if you overexert yourself and get injured you have set yourself back before you really even began. Start slow work your way up to the longer more intense workouts or combination workouts. Hope you feel better soon emoticon

@mishmilk - I completely agree with what cosmocomet said! These programs are designed to work when they are done exactly as laid out for you. You do not need to add on a ton of other activities to get results. What was your normal workout routine before you started Hip Hop Abs? I am also wondering how you are piece mailing together the workouts? Did you buy them from a Beachbody Coach or through Beachbody directly or did you order them from a third party? The Hip Hop Abs program comes with all the dvds you need, so you should have the complete set. Also, the Hips, Bums, and Thigh routine isn't supposed to be done until week 3, so you're wayyyyy ahead of yourself, especially if you had trouble with the cardio routine.

As for whether you should continue working out, there is a difference between soreness and pain. Soreness means your body got a good workout, but pain means there is something wrong. I can't answer that for you. However, you can ice your thighs and see if that makes it feel better. Also, if you experience soreness often, you might want to look into using the P90X Results and Recovery Formula to help with that.

If I were you (and assuming it's soreness rather than pain), I would try the Cardio again today, but just do the program - no other type of exercise. You can make the moves smaller since the focus should be on your abs and not your thighs.

Another thing is how much have you been stretching? You can do extra stretching to help work out the soreness in your muscles.

Thanks for all your reply.. I did some brisk walk and jogging a while ago..
my thighs arent that sore anymore.. will let them heal first before doing them again..
It does hurt when I climb the stairs..
No my sister gave them to me as a gift so yea..
I am out of track. so which part should I do first then??

i've been doing the Fat Burning Cardio too..
and it seems to be easier to do than Hips Bun and Thighs...

I'll continue brisk walking about 2 days so I can start doing Cardio again,

Yea I've been stretching now.. and my coach told me to drink lots of water helps too..
