Hey yall, I joined the teambeachbody elite at the beginning of summer 2012 to work of my freshmen 15. I have always been active, I played cross country, track, and basketball throughout high school, but obviously, despite running a couple miles here and there, college cafeteria food got the best of me and when I stepped on the scale when I came home for summer, I was shocked. I invested in Insanity and completed the program during the summer. I saw fantastic results and was close to the best shape of my life. Now, halfway through the academic year, I've mixed daily bouts with Insanity with runs, gym workouts, soccer games, etc. and am ready to push it to the next level. My roommate and I (who is having a similar experience and shares the same love for fitness) are getting Asylum I and II for Christmas. We are so excited to push out fitness level to the next level. So my question for you all is, why do you do it? I was talking to my friend about this the other day....why push yourself everyday until you are on the floor begging for the power jumps and ski abs to stop in a pool of sweat? Why buy the hardest program on the market and master it? By this time, many of us our pretty in shape....so why reach the upper elite usually reserved for olympians and professional athletes? My roommate and I are not training for a sport, we strive every day to get fitter because....well we are obsessed! Some do it to prove to themselves that anything is possible. Some do it to use their example to help others. Some do it to enjoy life to the fullest and take part in opportunities you could only do if you are in INSANE shape.....so what's your reason? For me, I feel like I need to channel my "Insanity" (see what I did there? haha) into some form of competition.....and somewhat embarrassingly, the only thing I have right now is Ultimate Frisbee (which sprained my ACL and tore my MCL back in August so I'm doing suicide drills in an $800 brace for at least a year and a half more). I was wondering what you all do outside of Insanity so maybe my roommate and I can take advantage of similar opportunities.
Glad to be apart of this class of people, diggin deep everyday!
