Just need to lose the belly-too much food? Edited pics*
Hey all!

I just started P90X and am going on my second week. I am doing this program with one main purpose; to get that elusive 6 pack i never could before! As you can see in my pics below, i am already fairly ripped around the arms/back and i just need a little off the waistline. I stand 6' @184 Lbs.

I can pretty much follow with every program except back/chest (maybe 70% of what the people in the video do) and yoga. My plan is to perform the Doubles program and replace yoga with a good solid run and possibly kenpo. I also work a physical job (landscaper) so i think the proper caloric intake per day for me is around 2300 or so says beach body.. but i'm intaking about 2700. And i sometimes have a couple pieces of turkey jerky if i am starving before 9:30pm.

Based on the pics below is there any advice i can gather from you all about what i should tweak if my overall goal is a 6 pack with current muscle retension? Also, is this too much protein and should i maybe cut to one shake on my cardio days?

Edited for smaller pic size, because i am a noob!

Hey mate ! I think over all ur doing quite well. Considering ur height and occupation ur calory intake isn't bad at all. My dad and I are workout buddies and he recently balanced out his carb intake, reducing that and balancing it out with more proteines. He's turning 64 in april and has a flat stomach most 64 yr old would kill for. I myself dont have a deskjob either so on my feet most of the day, workdays sometimes up to 16 hrs. My calory intake is through the roof sometimes but it matches my high metabolism. And at almost 36 I think I'm doing real good. So lower the carbs to burn more bodyfat, balance with proteines to support muscledefenition, ur well on ur way.

The simple answer is to just give it some time to work. You're in really great shape already and your diet is good. I'd lose some of the processed bars and snacks but otherwise it's great. Keep eating healthy and doing the program. Also, given that you're quite muscular and likely to gain some muscle during the program, don't use weight as a measurement of progress. I'd go with your waistline AND body fat % as the big indicators.

Thanks for the replies! The Clif bar is heavy on the carbs and calories so i will look into an alternative snack. Unfortunately it is my favourite food of the day! My protein intake is about my weight, sometimes a little over 185grams. This isn't enough you figure?

Another question: If i don't feel tired can i keep this meal plan or do i have to follow the p90x nutrition guide and add more calories/carbs for phase 2?

There is no reason for you to stay in the "fat shredder" phase of the nutrition plan for any longer than the first 4 weeks. You'll benefit from the additional energy from adding in the carbs, trust me. Of course the Clif bar is your favorite food. They're like eating a chocolate chip cookie.

BTW, could you re-size your photos to a much smaller size? I suspect many people aren't getting past them because they take up so much screen space. On my laptop I'm scrolling through about 3 or 4 screens to get down here.
