My programs are Asylum and X2, I'm in my last week of a hybrid. But I'm about to go into some solid Asylum as I do volume 2 and the volume 1/2 hybrid for first time. Once I get into volume 2 I know there is chest work out the wazoo. But I'm doing volume 1 solid first to help build up my cardio and endurance and bit more before going into volume 2. And during that I'd like to do a little bit of extra chest work once or twice a week. To build some muscle and strength.

Is there any recommendation on mixing some heavy weight low rep work with some pushups. Just do the weight work? Just the pushups? While I've certainly gotten way stronger, with all the medballs and what not in X2 I just can't solid work the chest as hard as I feel like I need to.

I guess what you do depends on what your goal is? Do you want stronger chest muscles or do you want bigger chest muscles or do you want both?

A little bit of both, but I'd say more strength than size.
