Nutrition Tips

• If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Be prepared by getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting. You can do this week-to-week or even plan out your entire month. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

• Shakeology is a great way to meet all of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

• Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

• Take your Measurements
• Take your before & after pictures
• Take the fit test

I can’t tell you how many people on my previous threads told me they were so mad at themselves for not doing this before they started.

If you want the best results, if you want to maximize your results, not just in the Insanity Workout, but any fitness program, you MUST track your progress. You simply cannot get to where you want to be, unless you know where you’ve been, and that’s why you need the worksheets. You only get one set of Insanity worksheets when you purchase the program. People are finishing their 60 days, and are ready for round 2! Download the Insanity Fit Test Worksheets that I created.

Another popular request is the Insanity Workout Calendar. No problem. Download the Insanity Calendar. Also if you are wondering how to add the deluxe workouts then pay particular attention to the statement at the bottom of this Insanity calendar download. It gives you a couple of ideas on how to use the deluxe DVDs.

Also utilize the tools that TBB provides. Complete your profile, and track your measurements and weight online. I use MyFitnessPal online to track my food diary as well as my calories burned each day. I would highly recommend signing up and add me as a buddy. My id is garmfield. MFP also has apps for iPhone, Andriod, and Blackberry.

Pre-Workout

• These workouts are intense! The right fuel will help your body "Dig Deeper!!!" with the intensity you need! If you eat a pre-workout meal, is very important to wait about an hour before you work out. Eat too soon and you could end up losing the meal instead of bringing the intensity!

• If you workout first thing in the morning like I do you might want to skip eating and take a pre-fuel 15 minutes prior to working out. I drink about 1/3 of my recovery drink prior to working out. It gives me all the energy I need to complete the toughest workouts.

Post-Workout

Keep in mind the first week is exceptionally rough! Expect to be sore and tired: Do not give up! Your body will adapt quickly and in no time you will start seeing some crazy results. You may want to do a few non-dvd workouts prior to starting just to get your body & mind ready.

• Recovery: After an intense Insanity workout, it is vital to recover the right way. I cannot stress enough how important this is. By adding a recovery drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. The longer you are in this state, the greater the chances your body will panic and may actually breakdown your existing muscle to create more glycogen—the exact opposite of what we are working for! Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc. The Beachbody Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. The Beachbody Recovery Drink is a great product and I highly recommend it.

• Accountability: Post your accountability DAILY on the message boards! This is the key to staying motivated. Here is an interesting statistic I’ve noticed over the past couple of threads I’ve been in. Out of all the people who join the thread and commit to the workouts, less than 20% will complete the full 60 day program! But what I found is, of those of post every day they are 90% likely to complete the program and transform their lives.

The message boards and forums are a great way to meet others that are going through exactly what you are and it helps stay accountable and motivated! Your forum buddies will have tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well. You will be doing the same in no time!

So ready to get started? First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing the new you!

Hello everyone

A big welcome to new team members and a huge for all the returning veterans.

I have worked with Greg for some time now and I have seen progress. Don't fool yourself... There is hard work and sound nutrition required to make lasting results. This is especially true over the holiday season. However, there is no better present to give yourself than a stronger and healthier body. Find a nutrition plan that you can follow. Find a fitness program that you enjoy that challenges you and find a group of like-minded people (just like Team Engage) to support you and to be accountable. This is a pretty simple recipe for success (note I said simple, not easy). You can do this... And when you stumble, Team Engage and Greg will be there to help. Enjoy the endorphins and the feeling of empowerment that comes from making positive changes in your life. You deserve it.

I am Daniel (DJ) and I have done P90X, Insanity, a P90X/Insanity Hybrid, Brazil Butt Lift and right now... Asylum. I have just finished my first week of Asylum and I am doing it for the Month of December. I may continue Asylum into 2013 or I may switch to my newly acquired Turbo Fire. I will see how Asylum goes and how my body is feeling at the end of the month.

I eat pretty extreme Paleo and have found that this works best for me. In the last two rounds with Team Engage (since July 9), I have lost just over 50 lbs and over 70 since I started my focus on better health. It can be done with effort and dedication. Consistency is the real key to success. Keep pushing play and doing your best!

Cheers
DJ

Hello! My name is Melanie, I'm a stay at home mom to 3 kids, and wife to a farmer. We love living in the country.

I began my fitness journey with TBB in May, this is now my 3rd (? or maybe 4th, not sure) round with Greg. This has become a new lifestyle for me, not just something I managed to stick with for a month or two. I am into my 8th month now and still going strong. I love the changes that working out have given me, I feel better, have more stamina, and am happier with myself than I ever was before. If you have questions, talk to Greg, he's been a huge help to all of us. Come join us here on the boards, there are many of us, and what better way to help yourself stay motivated! We are here to encourage each other and keep each other going.

Here are my to date pictures. Obviously the biggest change was the first few months. I started Insanity in May, finished end of June. Then did another month of misc. workouts. Took July-August off due to summer traveling. Picked back up in September with a mix of Turbo Fire, Insanity, BBL, and P90x. Currently doing a hybrid of p90x, BBL, and Turbo Fire. The last 2 months I haven't noticed a change, pretty much staying the same. Life has been in a bit of an upheaval, so haven't been concentrating on nutrition as well as I should.

Day 1 measurments (May):
Weight: 134
waist (navel):33
Hip: 36
Thigh(widest):24
Arms: 10.5

Current measurement(Now):
Weight: 112
Waist: 27.5
Hip: 31.5
Thigh: 20.25
Arm: 9.5

Goals, gain some muscle, and focus on toning up the backside.

And now for the pictures.

Good morning everyone and welcome if you are just joining us. You came to the right place if you want the best support and motivation.

Melanie--Your results and pictures on the previous thread show your determination. You Rock!

This round my plan is to mix Les Mills Pump/LMP Combat. I see this morning that it has been shipped and it just can't get here fast enough for me. I will also be adding various other programs in for variety. Let's get this party started emoticon

Later...Shelle

I'm starting P90X on December 16! Right now I'm reading over the nutrition book and then I'll read the Fitness Guide. While everyone will be doing New's Resolutions, I'll already be on my way.

Mark, glad you are doing well with it. I am thinking of returning it for Asylum 2. I did Kemo last night and it only got interesting to me when Tony did the combo arm and leg kicks but other then that I felt bored with it again and bearly broke a sweat. Stitch, great results! Hi Guys

Its good to see how well you folks have been doing. I'm back after completing my half marathon. An interesting adventure - running down Las Vegas Blvd at night. Makes me want to do it again and in better time. How many of you can say you ran with Elvis!

I'm starting back on the thread with Turbofire. I am looking forward to a different pace for my workouts.

Melanie you did a great job.

Debby - fantastic results.

Hey team,
I'm glad to see everyone joining us again for another round. It doesn't matter what program you are doing or what day you are on, everyone is invited to join our new team thread!

Lee, welcome back! Thanks for joining us from across the pond!

DJ, Welcome back, you have had amazing progress... losing over 70 lbs is amazing! Keep it going, you are a great motivation to us all.

Melanie, wow you too have had amazing progress. You look amazing in your pictures, and you should be very proud. Building more muscle and tone is a great goal for you. You will need to eat lots of protein and increase your calories so you are not at a deficit. I'm glad you are sticking with us for another round.

Shelle, welcome back for another round. Your hard work and dedication inspires us all.

Vanessa, welcome back! Good luck with P90X!

Sue, Thanks and welcome back! Many people find Kenpo too easy especially those who have done insanity so they often just switch it out for an Insanity program. I would suggest to modify the program to meet your needs. You are welcome to try my Insanity / p90x hybrid. http://greg.team-engage.com/2011/06/09/p90x-insanity-hybrid/
If you don't think it's right for you, then feel free to return it for Asylum. You have 30 days.

Denise, welcome back and congrats on completing a half marathon! You rock! Have fun with Turbofire.

Since everyone is re-introducing themselves, let me do the same for all the new folks who will be joining us. Hi I’m Greg, a Team Beachbody 3-Star Diamond coach! I started doing P90X in January 2011, and became a coach in March 2011. I've done P90X, P90X/P90X+, P90X/Insanity, Insanity, P90X2, Asylum, Ultimate Reset, and now Body Beast! In the past I’ve tried many diets that didn’t work or didn’t last, and I’ve wasted a lot money on gym memberships, but have never really seen much results. In 2010 my weight rose back up to new heights along with my blood pressure. I decided it was time to stop the cycle of yo yo dieting and get into shape. I purchased P90X and I started drinking Shakeology. I ended up losing over 30 pounds, my triglycerides dropped 192 points, my cholesterol dropped 65 points, and blood pressure returned to normal healthy levels and the doctor took me off all medication. Beachbody has changed my life for the better, and now I'm committed to help others succeed as well.

Accountability: Warmed up with TF HIIT 15 then YES, I finally dusted off the P90X2 and did PAP Lower. For those of you who don't know, I started this program back at the first of the year and failed to complete it. I hated the first 30 days and dropped it to go to Les Mills Pump (my soulmate workout) Guess what...I loved this one! It was a nice intense workout with a great 10m cooldown at the end. My burn may have been sorta low cuz I was learning it and using smaller weights but it should be better next time I try it. I plan on doing the Upper in a day or two.

For this next round I'll be completing Insanity and them doing a hybrid of Chalean Extreme and Turbo Fire. It typically takes me longer than 60/90 days to complete the programs as I mix in teaching a spinning class and running.
This is the third thread of Coach Greg's that I've followed. The members are great and really help with accountability & Motivation.
Welcome to everyone. KPP!

Shelle, awesome job completing your first P90X2 PAP lower! Just mix the upper and lower into your workouts once a week and I think you'll like them and enjoy the variety.

Coach Greg, Looking good in your transformation pic. That was funny about Tony not doing his own workouts. I forgot to comment on your post from the last thread. I don't think I want to do Insanity again for a while since I have done 2 rounds of it. I probably will check out Tony's other videos before I exchange it for Asylum 2 . Thanks for the info anyway. Rest day today for me. KPP Sue

Accountability: Insanity - Cardio, Power and Resistance - Transition week

Hi!

I'm happy to return for a 3rd cycle with Coach Greg. I enjoy the company of my fellow board members.

I'm in the middle of my 3rd Insanity cycle. I should have been done but I have been traveling for work and it has been more difficult to keep up on the road. I was planning on starting month 2 on Monday but I will be traveling to Germany next week so, I may have to postpone month 2 for a week. I'll try to stay active. Hotel rooms in Europe are tiny and not all hotels have gyms... Anyway, I'll see.

In any case, I can squeeze 2 workouts before leaving. And I will.

Today I completed Cardio Power and Resistance and it was enjoyable.

I shall be back tomorrow.

Good night you all.

KPP!

Cheers!

Dan
