Does anyone know if you could use resistance bands doing LMP instead of the barbell and weights that come with the package? I want to know because my wife is doing the program with me and I can't afford another barbell with weights at the moment. Thanks.

here is possible solution. Why don't you just take turns working out. you can do it in the morning or she then you or the other one at night

Do you work out at the same time? I think it would be hard to use resistance bands for most of the moves. Its just very quick movements. Some of them you can use just the plates.

Yes, we're both working out at the same time (5AM) since its the only time we have free. We have three children ages 5, 3, and 2. Have to get each of them ready by 7AM so there's no time at night for us to workout. Just the morning. Tough, but I know we can do it. Thanks.

My husband and I work out together.
We had adjustable hand weights with plates already. (You can get them from sears or any sports store for fairly cheap). These plates happen to fit the LMP bar. You could get a regular bar from the store too.

Or they make weighted bars that you can buy too (I have a 15lb and an 8lb that are pretty useful).

Also, regular handweights work for just about all the moves except the squats. You can squat with the weights, but my hands get tired from holding the weights (I use 15lb dumbbells so they get heavy for me)

I've never tried the bands - but I bet they would work for most of the moves. The series with deadlifts and clean&press would be the one place where I think they might not work - but you could just switch to handweights for that series.


This is are the moves:
squats
lunges
chest press
tricep press
bicep curls
deadlifts
clean and press
shoulder press/raises
