Searchin' for Fitness Buddy!
Heyyyy girl, dude, whatever!

My name is Ryleigh, call me Ry.

I'm eighteen, and really looking forward to getting in shape.
But I'm really bad at staying motivated unless I have someone to motivate me!
Really hope someone could use a buddy and fitness friend, because I do!

I'm really nice, open, I can handle the truth, and I'm really dedicated to fitness.

I'll be starting insanity tomorrow and I'd love to hear your advice or tips on how to begin my process of a better me.

Hello Ryleigh and welcome to the community. I think it's awesome that you're looking for a buddy to help keep you motivated. It's always easier when there is the accountability factor. I sent you a buddy request.

I've done Insanity a number of times and the biggest tip I can give you is to not try and keep up with the people on the videos. Keep in mind they went through the program and were probably the best of the best. If you need a break and quick breather, take it but don't hit the pause button or you might take a longer break then you really need.

Another tip I would have is don't be afraid to eat (healthy stuff, not McDonalds). I know a lot of people come into a workout program thinking I'm going to eat minimal calories and they find themselves burning out. You're going to need the food to fuel your body for the next 60 days.

Have you ever done any other program before or is Insanity your first?

Hey!

Congratulations on starting Insanity. Great choice emoticon

What are your goals as far as getting in shape?

Be consistent with the workouts. Don't skip any days, follow the schedule and eat as clean as you can. NO EXCUSES!

Andrew

Hi. I am doing Insanity now and as long as you stay focus and have a goal in mind "YOU CAN DO IT"!!! that's what Sean T. says and
that's what I am doing. I found it hard the first couple of days and then I got use to it. I hope you can do it too. Good luck girl. By the way, I am on day 15 and have 45 to go. Yes, I am counting the days and I already see good results.

About a year ago I tried out the "Hip Hop Abs" Series, but I didn't take it very seriously considering I didn't know much about working out or the BeachBody website. Over the past year I've learned a lot about foods and certain diets, and I'm hoping that Insanity will be a good program to start. I was considering following the nutrition guide it came with, but I have no clue where to start, or what times I should be eating these foods.

I'm really hoping to tone up. I mean I'd love to lose a good twenty pounds. but I'm afraid to get my hopes up and fail. So I'm straying away from the scale as much as possible and sticking to the tape measures and photos! Haha
Thank you so much(:

It's good that you've been educating yourself about foods. The guide is a good place to start when it comes to the nutrition part of the program. As I learned in my P90X Certification class, everyone has their own bioindividuality so don't be afraid to tweak and play around with the nutrition plan. There's no magic times on when you should eat the foods other then if you're not working out first thing in the morning then you want to eat breakfast within an hour of waking up. After that you really want to try and eat every 3-4 hours. This would allow your metabolism to stay high which would help you burn more fat.

Do you know what time of the day you're planning on working out?

Hey Ry,

Great job on making the commitment to do this! My advice to you is 1) Find a huge reason why you want to do this and out it in front of yourself everyday! You have to have a big reason that will push you on those days that you don't want to eat healthy or not exercise. 2) Find an accountability group, which is what you are seeking out. You want to be a part of a group that can motivate you, inspire you, encourage you, provide tips and instruction, and has your best interest at heart!

Best of luck to you on your journey Ry! If I can help, please let me know.

In Health,

Coach Jeff
