New to boards…have a lot of weight to lose…looking to connect
I've been doing P90X for about a month but I have failed to get on the message boards.

I have lost 14 pounds, since I started, but still have about 100 pounds to lose.

I have decided it is time to get my health in order. I have a 6 year old son who is beginning to eat unhealthy and even though I keep him very active he is starting to get lazy and make bad choices. I am the best example for healthy living so it is time for me to demonstrate that for him.

He is my motivation.

Anyone out there looking to connect with others in similar situations?

Hi Rosie,

Great job on dropping the 14 lbs! Also, way to take charge on wanting to become a good role model for your son on healthy living! If there is anything you need, please don't hesitate in contacting me. I will send you buddy request so that I can provide some info to our Facebook group that has really caught fire for supporting those working out with TBB.

Hi Rosie!

Congrats on losing 14lbs! That is great (especially around the holidays!!) How have you liked P90X so far? It was my first workout program too, and now I have a closet full emoticon I tend to do hybrids to keep myself excited lol I'm doing Pump and TurboFire in January after finishing up ChaLEAN Extreme.

I don't have children, but I know your healthy choices make a huge difference to your son. My mom was overweight when I was young, but when I was about 7 or 8 she began doing Weight Watchers and working out. I know her change in lifestyle and healthy choices helped me become interested in fitness and more aware of my choices when it comes to my body. You are doing a GREAT job! emoticon

I'm in an accountability group with a bunch of moms and a few others without like me. We share tips, motivational posts, fit tests, progress (you should see this lady's abs from P90X!), meal plans, and also host a monthly challenge and giveaway to those crushing their goals. If you'd like me to add you to it I can--it's mostly women and several of us are doing P90X or have in the past. My profile is fb.com/kaleesorey if you want me to add you to it--it's private so only members can see what we post & no spam or antyhing. It's totally up to you, but i know it's helped me and it's nice to talk to the same women each day about my ups and downs. emoticon

We sound 100% alike, my daughter is 3 years old now and before she was 1 I was 265 lbs and couldn't keep up with her. I decided that day I was not going to be the fat dad that is not there for his kids so I made a change. Fast forward, I lost 125 lbs and 16 inches off my waist line, I can do things that I have never in my life done and most importantly I am going to be there for my daughter! I did P90X twice and know what it takes to lose more than 100 lbs please feel free to reach out anytime and I will help you anyway I can, the people that replied here all of one thing in common, the desire to help others and change the obesity issue in this country.

Keep the thought of being an example to your little one in mind and do your best and you WILL get there.
