The CE months have 3 days of weight-lifting (ex: Burn Circuit 1, 2, 3), 1 day of endurance cardio (ex: Burn Intervals), 1 day of straight cardio (ex: burn it off) and the ab tapes.
You do not want to do the "cirucuit" workouts on back-to- back days. You are lifting your muscles to exhaustion and even though they are not the same muscle groups for each workout, the typical rule of thumb is to give your body a day off to recover from lifting before you lift again. (In P90X and LMP you will see the same thing - alternating weight-lifting days with cardio)
If you wanted to, you could do the "cardio" dvd for Chalean Extreme every day... (though who would want to?!). The Insanity program is very similar in stye to this workout, and they workout 6 days a week with this style of workout.
But, if you wanted to, you could do, for example:
mon: BC1 tues: intervals wed: BC2 thurs: cardio burn it off fri: BC3 sat: rest sun: abs
or something to that effect. You can squeeze the ab tape and the stretching tape in wherever you want in the schedule and however many times a week you want. I have sunday and monday off, so I pretty much set up this schedule for tues-sat since I workout before work. Then I squeezed in abs and stretching on the weekends at some point.
Life also happens a lot to me and ends up screwing up my workout time for whatever reason - if that happens, I usually just call that lost day a rest day and picked up with wherever I left off in my schedule which pushes my schedule into the weekend, but that's ok- that's why i leave the weekend open. hope that helps, rachael |
