Plateau! HELP!!
Plateau! HELP!!
12/12/12 12:54 PM
Hey Everyone!

Quick bio, I started at 242 after insanity, asylum, and p90x i am down to 184. I have done three weeks of P90x2 but have only dropped one pound down to 183. I feel like my nutrition may need to be readjusted to my new bmr and need help. Here is a sample of what I eat everyday. I welcome any and all advice.

Breakfast
Non-Sugar Oatmeal - 2 Servings
Skim Milk - 1 Serving

Snack
1 Low Fat Mozarella Cheese Stick

Lunch
4 OZ Salmon/Swai/Other type of non fat fish baked
1 serving of wheat pasta

Snack
1 Whey Protein Shake

Dinner
1 Piece of non-fat chicken
2 servings of vegetables
1 serving of Cottage Cheese

Can you guys help? Thanks!

BTW. I have seen all of my fat leave my lower body, but my core and chest are still holding on to some.

Looks to me like you aren't eating enough. Are you following the nutrition guide?

Not to a tee. I am in graduate school so the amount of different ingredients is a little bit on the pricy and timely end for me. I have borrowed several recipes from the guides. I'm thinking about adding around 200 calories to my breakfast and 200 calories to my lunch. I use the MyFitnessPal app available on android to track my daily food intake.

The more important question is are you seeing progress in terms of energy levels, measurements, fat % etc?

How many calories are you currently eating? Looking at your menu it seems low to me but you should tell us the specific number.

I am seeing a huge difference in core strength but not fat off my core. What I realized it could be were muscles building in my midsection pushing my fat out therefore extending my midsection. I realized that my fat % was going down but my waist was expanding a tiny bit. I am eating around 1800 calories per day.

1800 is not enough calories if you are doing P90x. I think you should try adding some GOOD calories and reevaluate.

If your muscles are growing and your fat percentage is going down then you are not at a plateau. I do agree that you would benefit from eating more. Your current quantity is about right for an average sized woman doing P90X.

Bumped up my calories to 2,200 and started adding carbs to lunch. Already seeing results. Thanks!
