Which program to do next!?
Which program to do next!?
12/12/12 6:38 PM
Ok, so I just finished Insanity and I'm pretty excited about my results. I want to keep the momentum going, so I'm trying to figure out which workout to do next. My main goal is to continue to trim down my core. Obviously, building muscle is nice, but I'm more interested in leaning out right now. I am an ice hockey player and could use the increased stamina and speed!!

I've narrowed it down to either Insanity Asylum Volumes 1 & 2 or Les Mills Combat.

Insanity Asylum is appealing because I know Sean T and his workouts and I'm confident I would be able to complete it with great results.

Les Mills Combat is appealing because it's a brand new workout, it's completely different from Insanity, and it would teach me some cool MMA moves.

What would you suggest?!? I've attached my pre-insanity and post-insanity pics if it helps (and cause I'm pretty proud!)

I agree! GREAT results! What'd you lose overall in lbs. and inches?!

As far as the program recommendations, one thing I would factor in is that with The Asylum you will need at least dumbbells or Resistance bands, and I HIGHLY recommend a pull-up bar, and you will be utilizing the Agility Ladder as well as the speed rope being optional! I've graduated The Asylum, and I can tell you that it is no joke! It really does crank up the Insanity by a lot! And it's tough to beat a 30 day commitment! And it also has one of my top 5 favorite workouts of all time, Gameday!

Combat I can tell you is a freaking BLAST! I'm only on Day 3 and I can tell you I am HOOKED on it! It is a blast, definitely high intensity on the Cardio end, and the only time you will need the extra equipment is optional dumbbells or a barbell for one of the Ultimate DVD's! This program is great! And I am personally an overall fan of the Les Mills series period, and I know that I am planning on doing a hybrid next of Les Mills Pump and Combat! So that I can eventually attempt the Les Mills certification so I can teach Combat classes!

I know that's a lot of info to go over! But just wanted to give my 2 cent. lol. Hope it helped with the insight a little bit!

Awesome results so far! You rocked it! Be sure to submit your results to the TBB challenge. Either of the those programs would be a great choice.

Thanks for the feedback Coach Alberto and DChavez!!

During the 9 weeks of Insanity I lost 23 pounds. In the past 12 weeks I lost a total of 28 pounds (180 lbs to 152 lbs). I did not do any other measurements before Insanity, but I plan on doing them before I start my next program. All I know is that I'm fitting into clothes I haven't fit into in years!! emoticon

I'm thankful to say that I have all of the necessary equipment in order to do either Asylum or Combat (or P90X for that matter).

DChavez - it sounds like you really enjoy both programs, so it's hard to decide which would be better for me.

Hmmm...I know if I complete Les Mills Combat I will get a t-shirt. Is the same true for Asylum? Can you get a t-shirt from both Volume 1 and Volume 2? Two t-shirts in a 60 day period is preferable to one!! hahaha

Thanks Coach Greg!! I plan on submitting the pictures for the Insanity t-shirt tonight. I'll have to check out the TBB challenge, as well!

Hey Goonga!

After looking it up I never found info on there being an AV2 shirt! What I would do is check out some videos and see what is best for you! I can now say that Combat is officially my Favorite program out! I love the high Intensity! And the core work MY GOODNESS!!!

I would honestly say that it is worth the investment!
