I am going to join the Army and am trying to get in shape for my ability test. I have to perform 75 push-ups in 2 min, 80 sit-ups in 2 min and run 2 miles in 13 min for a 100 on the test. I believe I am good on the push ups and sit ups, its the running that is giving me problems. I am currently doing P90X2 and feel I need to run on my off days. Does anyone have any suggestions to this; like is it a good or bad idea. Before I started P90X2 I was running 2 miles every other day and somedays more depending on how I felt. I have not ran in about 3 weeks now. Suggestions?

Run if you feel you need to. Id run on Plyo days for your cardio...just train so you peak for your test and dont overtrain. Good luck and thank you for your service to be emoticon

With X2 only working out 5 days a week, I think you could easily run in the middle of the week off day. Personally I don't think I'd skip Plyo to run, and I wouldn't double up plyo and running. But if you wanted to run some more, I'd run on the resistance days. Just give yourself a decent amount of time between when you do them.
